1973 Jaguar XKE Additional Info:

This beautiful triple black 1973 Jaguar XKE Series 3 Roadster was built in October of 1972 for the US market destined for the British Leyland US distribution center in New York, NY and was dispatched by Jaguar on December 22nd, 1972 according to the Heritage Certificate that accompanies the car. This is a numbers matching car with its original 5.3 liter 12-cylinder engine; engine number 7S 8233 LA, body number 4S 2771 and gearbox number KL 3938. Because I don't have a full history of the car from new, I put the car into our shop immediately after acquiring it and did a full safety inspection of all systems, tune up, carburetor adjustment and extended road test of the car. By all indications, this is a largely original sub 23,000 mile car as the engine delivers ample power, easy starting and smooth operation. The car accelerates effortlessly and shifts & brakes reliably. The factory air conditioning functions well as do all the gauges and controls. We have tested and inspected everything on this car to ensure reliability and functionality. The wheels appear new and the tires have minimal milage on them. The paint and panel fit are excellent throughout the car having been professionally repainted and cared for since. The doors open and shut easily and with no sag whatsoever. The bumpers are original and while the rear bumper shows some minor small areas of discoloration, the front bumper and all other brightwork appears excellent (see images). The interior appears new with all original style seats, carpeting, top vinyl and components as well all controls and gauges absolutely mint original. For driving enjoyment, the radio has been upgraded to a modern style Pioneer stereo system. A testament to the originality of the car is the incredibly straight and well fitting A/C vents which are extremely prone to warping and showing signs of age in poorly cared for or stored cars. These are straight and have perfect fitment indicative of an incredinbly well protected car for all of its life.Everything about this car speaks to its well cared for and pampered life. Only the radiator has been upgraded for better cooling which was a common upgrade on the earlier series three XKE's.This XKE has its original owners manual, original tool roll, original spare tire mounted on a correct wire wheel and jack set. It also has some receipts outlining the care and respect this car has received in recent years including a careful refitment of the top, interior maintenance & upkeep and other miscellaneous work performed in the last ten years. After the safety inspection and routine maintenance work, I handed the car to Marty who is one of the best paint correction guys in the business. The pictures show the level of attention he paid to the car.I have many more pictures of this car should you have serious interest and am happy to email them at full resolution upon request. I can be reached at 860-883-3998 for any questions. Given the last ten years of sales results, I have priced this car exceptionally well considering its beautiful presentation and excellent running condition. Please feel free to reach out with any questions. inspections encouraged and welcomed!
