1953 Jaguar XK120 SE Roadster Rolls Steers Restoration Project

1953 Jaguar XK120 Special Equipment Additional Info:

Up for sale by RW Auto Classics is this 1953 Jaguar XK120 SE Roadster OTS. This easily rolls and steers but is a project requiring total restoration. The body panels are mostly straight, but there is rust in the sheet metal. There is also rust in the frame. The aluminum pieces: doors, bonnet and rear boot lid are in okay to good condition. The wood is almost all beyond repair.

The interior will need to be completely replaced, but the main components are mostly here: seats, convertible top, dash pieces, sheet metal, etc. Some gauges are missing or are in poor condition and will need to be replaced or newly acquired.
The engine block turned over, but one piston was removed to free up the block. It doesn’t appear to have damaged the cylinder walls or the crank. (See additional internal images below). The cylinder head looks to be a solid candidate for a rebuild. The block and head are both stamped with engine number W 5548-8S, which matches the brass identification plate.
The gearbox is rotating but will need to be gone through prior to installation. The stamped number JL11869 also matches the ID plate.
Most parts to make a complete car seem to be here. Please ask about any specific pieces that you do not see in the listing.
