1963 Jaguar E-Type Fixed Head Coupe
Offered for reserve auction is an extremely solid Series 1 Fixed Head Coupe project. I am the third owner, ave a clear title in my name including the ownership chain from new. I purchased this project as a partially completed but abandoned restoration. The body number, ylinder head and block are numbers matching. The gearbox number does not match but is an early non-syncro box and there is no number on the picture frame. There’s a good chance it was replaced at one time and to re-stamp it would not be ethical in my opinion.
The sub-frames are in great shape and there is no evidence of any damage to the firewall/cowl area. The monocoque on this car is really nice. It looks as if this is where all of the money was spent at one time making the car right. I can tell it had floors, ossibly rockers and passenger side lower door skin done.
Remaining work to be done on the body before paint is final panel fitment, inor body work and sanding. Please take a look at the photos to see how straight and rust free this body is including the bonnet which is currently loosely mounted and there are no alignment shims installed. It is one of the nicest Series 1 E-Type projects you will find.
All mechanicals will need to be rebuilt/restored including engine, ransmission, ront/rear suspension, iring and interior. I have no other parts except those pictured and listed.
There’s a number of directions you can go with this project. A lot of the parts missing would need to be purchased new anyway if doing an original restoration which is one option. Another option would be to recreate a lightweight style race car. If this is intriguing to you I also have a freshly machined, igh performance 4.2 engine with triple Weber carbs ready for assembly by one of the nation’s leading Jaguar restoration experts/vintage racers. This engine is NOT INCLUDED in the auction and can be negotiated after the sale.
The market is very strong for Series 1 cars and this is a great opportunity to invest in one before they become even more valuable. If you’ve done your research and are serious about purchasing, ou know how difficult it is getting to find an E-type worth investing in.
Please understand that your winning bid is a binding agreement. That means you are obligated to follow through with the transaction. If you would like to arrange for either yourself or a representative to come view the car before the auction closes I would be more than accommodating.
Upon close of auction, $1000.00 deposit is required through PayPal and the balance due in cash at delivery time, o wire transfers, o checks.
Please contact Dan through E-bay for any additional details or questions. Thanks for looking and happy bidding!
