1970 Jaguar E-Type Additional Info:
Up forauction is a 1970 Jaguar E-Type Series II 4.2 Fixed head Coupe. This fine example is a matching number automobile. 27797 is a timecapsule that has had a pampered life, never needing a restoration, shouting it's correctness and originality in every way, just as when it crossed the pond from Coventry, England. The onlycharactertrait that is not original, is a beautiful repaint in Glasurit #302,performedto the highest standards in it's original coveted color of Regency Red, and of course new base rubber when reassembled. An accident free survivor, no filler, and the only discerning rust resides in the battery tray. Beautiful fit and finish with perfect gaps. This gem is an absolute dream to drive. Nounexplainablephantom rattles or noises. Starts immediately with a quick turnofthe key. No smoking upon start up, at an idle, or at any RPM. Noconsumptionof oil. SU carbs are tweaked in perfectly...Idles, accelerates and effortly glides through it's power bands, resonating the infamous XKE throaty tones. Transmission is equally impressive. Allgaugesamazingly work (even the clock). Bright work is very nice. Wire wheels exceptional. Glass is all Triplex, original and clear. Theupholstery is simply stellar for it's age...only addingmajestically to the heritage. No cracks in the seats and the dash is near flawless...Oh the old factorysensesof that wonderful vintageConnollyleather, (no smoker) smell. Very little TLC is needed here. The only service I wouldconsiderperformingin the future, ispossiblycharging the AC, if needed or wanted, and a fresh set of shocks, (still rides well). Steering is extremely tight and responsive. Recent battery and tune. Original tool kit andowner'smanual. Unequivocallya blue chip investment, as Fixed Heads have appreciated. Not often do you come across a find such as this. As an industry standard quote..."a car is only original once in it's lifetime". You can drive it home, or I will be happy to facilitate in the shipping department. There are many more pictures on my Photobucketsite, detailing shots of the undercarriage, interior, engine bay, etc. Go to Google, type in 'konschot photobucket', then to my library, scroll to 1970 Jaguar XKE. Thanks, and good luck.
