This is a sale for two vehicles and parts. The first vehicle (the cream colored car) is the Salon. The second (in white) is the convertible.
The Salon was a special order Henley of London (the top Jaguar dealer in London at the time) show car. This Salon comes with high performance X head engine. Sun roof, chrome seat hardware. This Salon is 1948 MK IV. This vehicle was purchased from Long Island from an estate that collected Jaguars. Purchased from his widow in 2002. This vehicle was acquired already as a cream color. The original color was lavender grey, wheels were magenta. Interior was parliament green. This was concluded after a professional car researcher looked up the bill sheet in England.
The second vehicle is a left hand drive LHD drop head coupe convertible (in white) MK IV. It was Max Hoffman's personal Jaguar. It was also the main car featured at the 1948 auto show at the Waldorf Astoria in NY. The original color was battleship grey with red interior. The vehicle came out of Beloit, WI. It was connected to Frank Lloyd Wright. This collector acquired vehicle in 1989. Barn find. This vehicle does not have a body number. Was not allowed to be given to collector.
