For sale is my 1972 International Harvester Travelall 1010- ½ Ton 2WD, Wagon
The Travelall was a truck-based Sport Utility Vehicle similar to the Chevrolet Suburban that was made at a time when these types of vehicles were not as popular as they are today. They were available until 1975 and they were known to have very high owner loyalty and satisfaction being that they were rugged but comfortable. This cream on wood beauty features the rugged International Harvester 345 Cubic Inch V8 that was known for reliability. This truck features power steering, power brakes, and drives wonderfully, like it’s on a cloud of air. This is the perfect vehicle for taking the family on that cross country tour, cruising to the beach with your boards, or towing your boat for a fishing expedition. For years I towed a 22 foot camp trailer up and down the coast of California with ease. Driving this daily driver is not only a head turner, but a true reliable classic that was built to last and has the driving comfort of today’s modern SUV’s without the headaches.
This Wagon features a V8 Automatic, Power steering and brakes, stainless steel hub caps, tow package, dual gas tanks, spare tire housing with tire, wood grain package, blue interior package, 6 seat belts with a flip down back seat for even more storage, chrome bumpers, hardware and trim, Original AM radio, heavy duty cooling/transmission (belt is not currently hooked up for A/C), Heater blows strong, new battery, towing package with brake assist and new towing electrical hookups with a tow hitch, the glass is in great condition with 3 hair line fractures all in the front window only. All 5 windows roll up and down with ease. All 5 doors open and close with ease.
This rare Travelall retains all of its original paint and upholstery which are in fair to good condition showing some wear with rips and tears, (one good size rip on the left side bench, (see photo), original dash board is in good shape, door panels are in good order, headliner has some holes and scratches and not in the greatest shape, gauges have been cleaned and all lights and wipers are also in working order, no leaks from rain.
The Ugly; the paint and trim are 45 years old and original so there is rust in the wheel wells and some spots around the trim and the hood on the vehicle. Lots of chipped paint and scratches and a few dings, but nothing larger than a quarter. This is technically a tractor motor so it takes about 2 minutes to warm up completely, but once it does it runs cool and strong. The headliner is rough with a couple holes, but is not sagging or falling apart. Rips in the front driver seat and a tear on the side of the left rear seat (approx. 4” see photo). A/C is not working.
The good; runs strong and fast, new brakes, tune up, some new hoses, belts, recent tune up and oil change, new fluids, tires have about 75% tread. This Travelall retains all of the original drive line, 345 with the original thermo-quad carburetor. Vehicle shifts smooth, drives straight, tight steering and brakes exceptionally well. Vehicle sold as is, no warranty, no returns and buyer is responsible for shipping. Please call with any questions. I have most receipts for work done as well as an aftermarket vehicle manual.
