1954 International Harvester Other Additional Info:
1954 International Harvester R-176 fire truck
The R series offered the 170, 71, 72, 73, 74, nd 175. From what I've read IH trucks ending in -6 were fire trucks.
This was in service with the Canaan, H fire department. Sold to them by the Farrar Company of Woodville, ass.
Truck was equipped with water tank which has since been removed.
This is not a full-length truck, ike a hook and ladder. It is 22 feet long. The bed is 13 feet. The wheelbase is 13 feet. The truck is 8 feet wide. Width of rear tires - for trailering purposes - is 92".
Straight 6. 5 speed manual. Gas.
The GVW is listed as 16,000 lbs on both the truck itself and several NH auto registration cards.
I do not have a title, ince the truck is so old. I have a bill of sale to me and several bills of sale back to previous owners.
Serial # plate on door says R17610133. NH auto reg lists VIN as 14371
There is some rust on the tops of the front fenders. The bottoms of the doors are soft. The floor of the cab is all there.
At the moment this truck needs new points and a new ignition switch (key was lost). The dairy farmer I bought it from says it runs, nd I trust him: since there are so few of us up here in the country you don't burn people on this sort of stuff.
Truck is located in Sutton, T.
$1,625 is my bottom dollar, onsidering ebay's fee.
Please note truck is also for sale locally; auction can be ended at any moment.
PLEASE ASK ANY AND ALL QUESTIONS.
Send me an ebay message with your phone number and I'll be happy to call and talk about this truck.
