Up for sale is a classic 1972 International Harvester Scout II. This vehicle is a highly presentable "driver" that retains much of its original character, featuring the desirable 345 V8 engine paired with a 4-speed manual transmission. Showing approximately 75k miles (believed to be original), this Scout represents a fantastic foundation for a rolling restoration or a platform to take to the next level.

Mechanical & Condition

• Engine/Drivetrain: the robust 345 cubic-inch V8 engine, delivering classic IH performance. Recent NEW Holley 2bbl carburetor, fires up well and sounds good with the DUAL EXHAUST. The 4-speed manual transmission shifts as intended. Clutch grabs very high, so will need adjustment but does work and shift gears.

• Equipment: Equipped with power steering (P/S) and power brakes (P/B) for improved drivability compared to base models.

• Interior/Exterior: Features a classic soft top, roll bar, and a functional bench seat configuration. The interior is fully carpeted as well for that deluxe feel. NO rips in seats. NICE dash pad, GOOD door panels. Carpet is older but presentable.

• Status: This is a presentable driver that looks great from a distance but will benefit from some TLC to address typical wear and cosmetic touch-ups consistent with its age. Older paint that cleans up well with good shine, with various imperfections.

• Underside: Floors have had sheetmetal patches done as well as NEW outer rockers, still needs inner rockers and braces to add some structural stability. GOOD body mounts and GOOD frame. Door gaps need to be adjusted. Underneath has been fully undercoated. Perfect for a builder looking for a solid starting point who has the fabrication skills to handle structural steel replacement.

• REALISTIC EXPECTATIONS: Please, this is a running and driving car that could use restoration down the road depending on how far you want to go with it. It is NOT something you'll get in and drive coast to coast with, not with a good going over at least. Don't expect a brand new Hummer. If you know what you're looking at you know how much they go for.
