1963 InternationalC-1200 Travelall:4x4, six lug, 304 V8 engine, with 5-speed T-35 (fifth direct, not an overdrive) transmission
(will have to haul off, not road worthy-carburetor & clutch cylinder). Clear title in hand. Great vehicle, just getting too old to keep up with. Truck is located just outside of Fort Worth, Texas.Owned for over 30 years. It was the result of two trucks I merged into one, since I couldn’t keep up with both. Body bad, mechanically sound, LOT’s of spare parts including three rare 6-lug brake drums. It would be better as a parts truck for another one with a good body. Not road worthy – needs a carburetor, and I can’t seem to be able to rebuild one that works. It also needs a clutch slave cylinder, but I have a new one in the parts pile.
Body, not so good. Plenty of rust and cancer. Frame OK. Rear side windows replaced with aluminum. Electric lift gate works, but needs help sometimes. Lift gate almost rusted out at spring plate. Windshield good.No door covers. Some of the locks work, and others don’t.
Excellent tires, with recent inner tubes and liners, 255/85 R16 mud. About 1,000 miles on the tires, but they are five years old since the truck has been sitting around without much use.
304 engine rebuilt about 15 years ago, and has 43,000 miles on it, no obnoxious tapping or knocking. I did everything but the rocker arms, and the pistons – they were like new when we opened the engine, so we didn’t replace them. It does leak oil from some of the gasket seals (not the main bearing seal), but doesn’t burn oil. Needs new engine gaskets. Also, each engine head lost the left ‘ear’ when I recently replaced the exhaust manifold gaskets (the bolts broke off), but did not go down to the water. Will start, but sputters and runs so rich that it fouls the plugs and won’t idle.
5-speed T-35 (or T-36) transmission. I got this out of a Loadstar 1600 truck and inspected the guts when I pulled it. It looked like it had just been rebuilt. Works great.I think it is fully synchronized, even 1st and reverse. Clutch, throw-out bearing, and pilot bearing replaced years ago, but less than 5,000 miles ago. They are in great shape and the transmission shifts very easily for a transmission this big.
2-speedtransfer case, probably a New Process, don’t really know. I had it rebuilt about 15 years ago, all new bearings and seals. Big heavy cast iron thing.
4.10 rear end. I had this rebuilt about the same time as the transfer case. All new bearings, but we kept the used ring and pinion set. So it makes a bit of noise when go from pulling a load to rolling down the road with no load. It’s been doing this for years, just a set of noisy gears. Front end in great shape, just a tad lower than 4.10, probably a 4.09, just enough to take outthe slack when in four-wheel drive.
‘New’ brake shoes front and back (done a few years back, but haven’t driven very much). Front calipers ‘new’, and specially made double-acting for better front braking. Front drums nearly new, rears are 12.090 (90’s) and have never been turned. They did go through a couple of sets of brake shoes, but there should be plenty of meat left on them, say 60 thousandth. However, it's been sitting for six months, so I cannot tell if the cylinders leak, they may need to be rebuilt.
Dual exhaust in good condition.
New NOS fuel pump.
Large version of the radiator, in good condition, and a five blade fan.
Drive shafts rebuilt and in good condition.
Extra set of springs front and rear – between this and the big tires, it rides like a lumber wagon, but can haul loads of firewood.
Heavy duty hitch. Front hitch as well.
Electrical: Most of the lights work. Starter is new, alternator completely and recently rebuilt, wind-shield wiper works, but it leaves the wipers a little high. Also there is a spare space heater on the floor of the driver’s side. New battery.
Dual gas tanks, with the passenger side tank needing a sender, but I have a new one.
Two 1,000 watt block heaters.
Spare Parts:
A transfer case,
Miscellaneous rear end parts (not a complete rear end, though),
Three six-lug rear brake drums – they all have been turned but they have an average of about 0.030” left in them.
Six front drums, used, but four still have some meat left on them.
Two new dual-acting master cylinders.
Space heater, carburetor parts, voltage regulators, etc.
Twos pare rims and tires,
Fairly new tire rings.
Front axle knuckle seals.
Engine gaskets.
Gas tank sending unit.
Buyer responsible for hauling the truck and parts off, vehicle and parts are as is. No refunds, need to move this thing out of my driveway before I take a new job on the other side of the state.
Please email me with any questions. Low reserve - I would love to see someone take this and use the rare parts or rebuild as a rat rod. Otherwise, it may have to go to a metal recycling yard.
