1967 International Harvester Scout Additional Info:

This is a RESTO - MOD build of a 1967 International Harvester Scout 800

I built in stages over the course of a few years. Im firm on my price as I have more than double into the build. My life has taken me down a different path and I need to let this build go on and hopefully the future owner will use it more than I have. I just don't have the time to drive it and hate seeing it just sit. It would make for a perfect beach cruiser.

The build was done by a good buddy of mine and well known Scout Guru... GARY BILLINGS, out of Conifer Colorado.

Lots of time and work went into removing and replacing all and all rust from the body and inner shell.

EXTERIOR

  • During this phase of the build we focused on frame and body and making sure everything was straight and true.
  • Body panels were removed from the inner shell and all rust repairs were made.
  • Front nose and hood were sourced and trued up
  • Fenders were sourced and welded back on
  • Doors were sourced and made true
  • Rear Fenders and end caps were sourced and welded back on
  • We also addressed the fuel system and the framing of the tanks aka inner and outer walls as well as floor for tanks.
  • New front floors both drivers and passengers were welded in
  • New rear floor plate also welded in
  • Then the vehicle was prepped and painted with POR15 and chassis paint.
  • Inner Shell was sprayed with POR15 chassis paint
  • Frame was also cleaned and prepped and paint with POR15 chassis paint
  • Body panels and undercarriage was cleaned prepped and sprayed as well
  • Wheel wells were sprayed with undercarriage coating
  • The exterior was done in Tan Durabak roll on liner.
  • The hard top was sandblasted and powder coated white, but over the last couple of years its gotten some surface rust near the windshield which can be addressed if you will... reflected in price.
  • All new window seals through out the Scout, but does still leak water during hard pouring rain. its a Scout they all leak
  • Rear tailgate is a drop down from 1961 (IH stamped in it instead of the Script)
    • was sand blasted and powder coated then line-x’d black
  • Hood was also sand blasted powder coated and then line x'd
  • Custom Front bumper fabricated by Gary Billings with KC lights mounted and D Rings welded for Shackles
    • Was sandblasted and powder coated in black fine texture
  • Custom Rear Bumper with tire swing out, jerry can and hi lift fabricated by Gary Billings (holds spare Interco Trxus 31”)
    • Was sandblasted and powder coated in black fine texture
  • Custom Rock Sliders fabricated by Gary Billings that are bolt on and the frame has been sleeved for added strength
    • was sandblasted and powder coated in black fine texture
  • Ford Wagon wheels were sourced and refinished by sandblasting and powder coating in Tan.
  • 31x10.50x15 Interco Trxus Tires were mounted, they have maybe 500 miles on them. 5 tires

The needs attention:

  • does leak engine oil
  • does leak Trans fluid
  • Window trim felts and seals haven't been installed but I do have them
  • the top has that rust I mentioned above
  • we did find a pin hole rust spot near the accelerator when installing the crate motor last year WE DID address it and CUT it out and welded new section in and coated it but the area needs to be sprayed again by Line-X… again this fix has been reflected in the price
  • Fluids are clean and all there but its been getting minimal driving time so fluids would be something to address for peace of mind

I think thats everything, Ill add items as I remember them. Honestly too much was done to the Scout to get it to where it is now and lots of small things might have been missed. If you have any questions feel free to email and we can discuss.

There are two builds on BinderPlanet posted By Gary Billings which include pages and pages of the build thread. I believe they are called the 30 day Scout build and another 30 day scout build. There is tons of info on those two Build Threads so if I haven't covered anything they are likely mentioned within there.

Thanks for looking and if you'd let to set up a time to check it out then give me a shout and we can schedule a time. The truck is located in Huntington Beach, has Colorado Title and its clean and in hand.

Needs a good new home

Thank you!
