BRIEF DESCRIPTION:
so what exactly are you looking at ? This truck was bought new here in
Tucson in1964, its been in the same family ever since. The father
bought it as a work truck for the farm and it didnt get used all that
much and when it did it was around the farm hauling hay. Its changed
hands in the family over the yrs, but none of the owners really had the
ability to work on it so it did sit most of its life. IN the 90s it did get some
restoration. A paint job, stock color and the interior was redone in a
nice almost velour material. Then again it sat in a carport most of its life
ever since.
THERE IS minimal ROT ON THIS TRUCK ON THE BODY OR UNDER
THE TRUCK thanks to being an SW truck its whole life. That being said, sure the
AZ sun and heat has been hard on the plastic and rubber on the truck inside
mostly. We got the truck the way you see it basically and being parked since
2010 the first thing we noticed was there was little to no gas left in the tank.
We put fresh gas in it and a battery After about 4 cranks the
trunk came to life and started like it was suppose to. Motor sounds good and
it idles well too. The power brake booster isnt working, and it has brakes
just not power brakes at the moment. When I put it in gear it wants to die,
Im thinking the pb booster has a vacuum leak causing a few issues. Ive been
basically power braking it to be able to move it around the parking lot etc.
I did drive around the block the other day. Id say once it gets a few
tanks of gas run thru it it will run better. I could need a tune up too. We did
install a new dist cap that it needed.
Tires are dry rot of course.
The truck will ship like this making it easier & cheaper to ship.
Our reserve is less and what Id consider well worth it, so dont miss out !
DONT BID UNLESS YOU HAVE THE FUNDS IN HAND, apparently some people
who use ebay arent smart enough to understand the rules.
So if you have under 10 feedbacks, Ill be emailing you if you bid to
make sure you are legit, if we do please reply or we will cancel your bid.
Up for Auction: LOW FAIR RESERVE !!!
These cars are getting harder to find esp in this condition
that are still affordable to most buyers.
DRIVETRAIN: as the best we can tell the motor has never been
apart and its the original V8 that came with it since day 1.
The motor sounds good, runs decent, trans shifts like it should
as well. Rearend, stock and original. Its had normal maintance
done over the yrs of course. Factory AC is pretty cool and it
feels like its WORKING. Turn it on while driving and it blows
COOL !!!! not cold, but its 110 here also when we are trying it.
It may just need a little charge to get colder. PS works great.
INTERIOR:as mentioned earlier, yes Az sun and heat has done some
damage to the truck, but still for a almost 50+ yr old truck its
still in pretty good shape inside. Its all there too, fold down middle seat
all the gaugesseem to work too. AC blows cool, yes.
All the glass seems to be good, even the power tailgate glass works!
Headliner is sagging some and needs to get tucked up, I may try to
do that today. All the doors open
and close no problem and zero rust inside the jambs or door bottoms... Az truck.
...its Arizona.
EXTERIOR: even with older paint, you can see how amazingly
straight the outside of this truck is. As far as rust of rot goes, I
found a few spots to mention. Bottom of one of the front fenders
near the door has bubbles and the the tailgate. Lower part of the
tailgate has rust and so does the body some where it closes against
the body. The one spot if flat, making it easier to repair. Still for
a IH this old, its probably the most rust free one you are going to
find for a reserve as low as ours. See pics below and if you have any
questions or need more pics, please ask !!!
SUSPENSION:Basically all stock and normal wear and tear and
repairs done over its lifetime. Stock wheels would look great with
some poverty hubcaps back on them. Bolt pattern on this truck is
5x4.5" making it AWESOME for some custom wheels / tire pkgs available
for this when you put it back on the road. Some Mobsteel wheels or
20" Steelies or Ralley style wheels would look great on this. PS works
great no sign of any leaks.
Check out ALL the pics below ----->
it may take a full minute for them all to load ifyou have a
slow connection, so be patient AND looks for the extra scroll
bar on the right side.
Az gets maybe 12" a yr of rain and Az very dry climate.

much feasibly possible via pics.
Dont let auctions withlittle to no pics try to fool you.
If they cant take the time to take pics of areas under the car they
are selling, maybe its not the best car to buy long distance.
With other auctions, you really dont know what to expect
until you take the car apart. While we go over our cars ALL OVER
with great pics to help making your decision easier.
