1992 Honda Prelude Si Additional Info:
For consignment, a 3 owner, 93,641 mile original 1992 Honda Prelude Si, with a peppy and reliable 2.3 liter 4 cylinder engine and a rare leather interior. In very good condition, well cared for with fresh window tint, a slew of new ignition parts, and lots of regular routine maintenance. The perfect entry level classic sports car with a buzz.
Exterior
A white knight in aerodynamic armor version, that is covered in its original factory applied paint that retains its shine. We note some slight fading, and the usual dents and dings, but all very slight in nature. Aerodynamic, non hidden, flush to the body crystal clear headlights, an integrated bumper and grille lead the way with factory correct fog lamps and shrouds down low to help guide your way. Throughout we see consistent gaps, and a rear spoiler, all very clean. This car is in good condition. Up top is a glass moon roof from a later model Honda and cathedral style tail lights flank the spacious trunk on the rear along with another integrated body matching bumper. Aerodynamic curves, and ceramic tinted in 2021 glass that works with steel to create beautiful lines. Everything works together to accentuate the speed of the car even when it is standing still. 17-inch Rezax alloy wheels keep this skate on the ground and are wrapped in 205/45R17 rubber from the 9th week of 2020 and as a bonus, the OEM wheels with newer tires are also included with your purchase.
Interior
A rarity in a Prelude greets us upon opening the doors in the form of black leather buckets within a full black interior, all in very clean condition. Sitting in these seats you are immediately grabbed and in a good way. Strap in and turn the key, and watch the gauges come to life, and listen to the high pitch of horsepower being produced. A deeply inset instrument cluster fronts the driver and this inset continues across the dash where it holds the full gamut of warning lamps. Racing between the leather clad buckets is a black plastic console that holds the shifter, cup holders, the rarely seen factory armrest option, and a small storage cubby. As the console sweeps up to meet the dash we note an ash receptacle, the factory AM/FM/CD & Cassette stereo, and the slides and buttons for the heat and AC. Everything at your fingertips so you don't have to take your eyes off the road while speeding down it! Black Honda carpeting is covering all the floors, and in the rear we note a 2 plus 2 bucket seat and armrest arrangement that while comfy, is meant for persons with a much smaller stature than myself.
Drivetrain
A naturally aspirated 2.3 liter 4 cylinder putting out 160hp, and maybe just a bit more thanks to the cold air intake, is within the clean, but showing some patina engine bay. This power plant is a twin cam version and sports EFI along with the timing belt being replaced at 74K, a new distributor in 2021 and a new ignition in 2022. A 4.285 geared front axle is driving the front tires and is powered by a 4-speed automatic transmission.
Undercarriage
Some spotty surface rust on a few parts, but certainly unremarkable as to structural stability. Some surface rust is noted on the single exhaust but nothing to cause leaks at this point. The unibody and floor pans are in good condition. Seen is independent Macpherson front suspension and independent suspension with coil springs for the rear. Power disc brakes are noted on all 4 corners as well.
Drive-Ability
If you have a penchant for going fast, and having a car that is a real curve carver, then look no further. Classic Japanese engineering and quality of build is seen here in spades. Our test track was no match for this sports car, and it carved it up like a Thanksgiving turkey. All functions were working together to make the car go fast, and come to a screeching halt..(well, not literally).
A nice example, with some miles accumulated on the clock, but well maintained with recent service and ignition parts, and timing belt at 74K. The ceramic tinted glass, some rarely seen interior options and wonderful white paint, you too can have the luck of the Irish, Japanese style!
