1979 Honda Civic 5-Door Wagon Additional Info:
If you are seriously interested in this car, please call me before bidding. If you don't call, your bid will be canceled and you blocked. Too many scammers out there. :) (sixxTHREEzero)4SIXXone-34sixty-two. It's a land line, so NO TEXTS.
I prefer a local c. a. s. h. buyer, but I will work with your shipper if you make all the arrangements and, of course, pay them yourself.
Vintage 1979 Honda Civic CVCC Station Wagon with under 60,000 miles as of this posting.
If you are thinking about spending $30,000 on a new station wagon, invest in this one. It'll outlast most cars being made today. If you take care of this car it will last a lifetime.
It's a daily driver, so miles may go up a bit, but since I live in the Chicago area, it's not being driven when there's snow and salt on the roads.
Mechanically, it starts right up and drives great. It needs a carb adjustment or cleaning because when driving in town, I have to leave the choke out a little so it doesn't turn off. On the highway, it's not an issue; it runs great on the highway, but in town you may have to leave the choke out a little.
The steering on this car is as tight as a go-kart.
The tires are brand new. Nice expensive ones.
There have been seat covers on the front seats since day one, so they look mint, as does the back seat.
The car is probably 98% rust free, but it does have some spots that you may want to fix.
Included with the sale is a very heavy-duty tow bar. This tow bar is built to tow a car much heavier than this one. The car is retrofitted with the receiver for the tow bar already, so if you want to tow this car behind your motorhome, it's all set up for that.
It has the Hondamatic Transmission, so anyone can drive this car.
I had a 1976 Honda Civic when I was a kid and it was the best car I ever owned. A real blast to drive.
This Honda Civic Wagon turns heads all day long. It's really a cool car to see driving down the street in 2017. Most 1970's Civics are high mileage and complete rust buckets. This one came from the West Coast and was babied.
Not much more to say, it's pretty basic inside. It has the original am/fm radio, that's it, no tape, and definitely no CD player, and the radio works perfect. Nice sound.
Windows are hand crank. Manual Locks. The key doesn't open the driver's side door. If I keep it, I'll address that issue, but just so you know.
What else....
All the lights and signals work. The heater blows hot. I also noticed the horn works (sometimes). Again, something I'll take care of if I end up keeping it.
Of course it has the generic tan vinyl seat upholstery from the 70's that was pretty common in Japanese cars. However, overall, the interior is MINT.
Because of the carb issue, I don't think it's getting as good a gas mileage as it could. But, it's a small gas tank anyways, so even though you'll be getting 30+ miles per gallon (probably), you do fill it up pretty regularly. But that's no problem if you like talking with people, because some car buffs tend to navigate themselves towards this one at the gas pump and strike up a pleasant conversation. :)
Any questions? Just ask. Clean and clear title. I'm outside of Chicago in Schaumburg, IL. If you know anyone close-by, they can come and inspect the car in person by calling the number listed above.
Of course with any old car, it's sold AS-IS with no warranties.
By agreeing to buy this car, you also agree that the $250 deposit through PayPal is completely NON-REFUNDABLE, so be sure you want to buy this car before agreeing to it. If you don't agree with this policy, don't agree to buy it. It's that simple.
Also, I will not accept a cashier's check, personal check or any other form of payment other than $$$. All major banks are within minutes of my house, so getting your money shouldn't be a problem. We can handle the entire transaction at your branch bank if you like for security purposes.
Whoever buys this car will love it. It's cute as a button. ;)
