1977 Honda Civic Sedan Additional Info:
I purchased this vehicle as a daily driver to and from doctors appointments from a local mechanic who said it was used as his daily driver; I originally paid $2300. I am taking a loss because I'm still paying for public transportation or having to rent a car to my sons appointments. we've gone through 3 Neurologist and 4 Pediatricians. He is 3years old and 21days today. Joshua is his name and he is diagnosed with autism, epilepsy, and an intellectual delay. I am a single full time father doing the best I can to raise him on my own making ends meet on my VA benefits from 11 years in total of honorable service. We are pleased with the current doctors but are in need of a dependable ride. We must travel to Children's Hospital Los Angeles and Pediatric diagnostic center in Ventura often. If you are looking to work on a one of a kind project, consider my white 1977 Hondamatic with very little surface rust and a Compound Vortex Controlled Combustion engine.
I had this classic towed to DCH Honda of Oxnard and has been gone through completely by the head technician in the Service Department. It has a blown head gasket according to the head technician at DCH Honda of Oxnard, the two front axles can use replacing along with fluids and the other necessary repairs when a head gasket goes out, their estimate of all recommended items to be done is included in the photos uploaded here.
WHAT HAPPENED: a sudden loss of power and massive amounts of smoke began to emanate from the exhaust pipe. It has just over 70k miles. Someone else can have a true running classic that will never have an issue with passing smog because of Honda's Compound Vortex Controlled Combustion, (CVCC) engine, a true accomplishment for 1977.
The Radio in this car does not seem to work, the horn works but buttons are off, one is hanging and needs a screw to hold in place and another is in the glove box. The rearview mirror was pulled off by my little one and would need to be replaced. The two front seats could be upholstered it currently has a generic seat cover. DCH Honda of Oxnard is willing to repair the head gasket and resurface valves replace all fluids and needed seals for $1600; this would get the car up and driving with the other issues known upfront! Tires are great! If you are mechanically inclined and have the tools and time the cost would be significantly less I would imagine. either way, keep us in mind.
