1957 GMC Other Additional Info:

This 1957 GMC Napco Panel Truck was built as a 'GMC 4-Wheel Drive All-Emergency Rescue Vehicle Model 101 Panel.' It has factory installed Napco 4x4 running gear, a PTO winch, and the GMC 270 six cylinder engine. The truck was bought by the Granby, Colorado fire department, and still has the markings on the interior from when it was in service there. The department call numbers and speed limit information is on the sun visor, and the odometer shows 6722 miles, which I believe to be original.

Omar at Lugo Parts and Restoration in Loomis California painted the truck, changed all the fluids, rebuilt the carburetor and the brakes, tuned it. We took the truck to bare metal. There is no rust in the truck, and no evidence of any damage to the body. The engine is unrestored original. The frame and running gear are unrestored original, solid and rust free, and the interior is all original except for carpet on the floor. I believe the seats have been recovered. A Suburban style 60/40 seat was installed at the factory. The only things not stock and original are the 265 70 17 Cooper STT tires on 17x9 Black Rock Wheels, new Selectro hubs, shoulder strap seat belts and exhaust pipe.

I believe the truck was in storage at the Granby Fire Department for twenty years. I bought the truck on September 5, 2014 from a gentleman in Atlanta and was given a Colorado title. The Colorado title shows it was bought by a man in Tabernash, CO, eleven miles south of Granby, on July 6, 1987 with 5624 miles on the odometer, and sold on May 26, 2014. The odometer now shows 6722. I shipped the truck to Lugo Parts and Restoration and drove it fifteen miles to storage in Auburn, California.

I have clear California Title to the truck.

I have the GMC Civil Defense Truck sales brochure, the GMC Truck Owner Service Policy, the GMC Owner's Guide and the Operating Your GMC Truck booklet that came with the truck when new. The original keys come with it, on fobs I believe were used at the Fire Department. The Civil Defense emergency lights, jerry can brackets, mirrors and spot light go with the truck.
