1966 GMC Handi-Van Bus Restomod Additional Info:

Vehicle Original VIN : G1011PD3431W
This 1966 GMC Handi-Bus van is a recently restored restomod that can do it all. After all, it's unique enough to grab attention wherever it goes; there's plenty of secured storage for whatever project you have; and the interior has upgraded comforts like leather and A/C. Plus, the upgraded fuel-injected V8 power, overdrive transmission, and four-wheel disc brakes create an impressive way to enjoy a vintage van.

More than just custom, we know this is a true classic. It was the first of the G-Series, and it was only in production for a few years. So it's a true rarity out there today, and this example has very clean and complete sheet metal. It makes for a great canvas for the Gecko Green paint that was applied in 2020. It has a nice metallic glow to help show there was a lot of added attention and investment to make sure this van looks handsome. So there are even good fundamentals with shining chrome bumpers, pliable weather-stripping, bright headlight bezels, and all the glass looks new (you had about as many windows as the VW vans!) We love how this one pays tribute to the custom van culture it helps create by adding a touch of flair with custom pinstriping on the front and rear. And the Rally wheels and bright side exhaust tips hint that the custom nature of this GMC has to do with added power.

There's some nice thought that went into the interior. The rear area is bright and airy. It has nice details, like tweed carpeting, a suede-like headliner, and a late-model rear bench seat done in nice leather. It makes for an attractive and useful space where you can do anything from carrying people in comfort to bringing all the tailgating supplies. Up front, you and your passenger get upgraded bucket seats that are comfy enough to provide all-day comfort. There are also some nice additions like the Lokar shifter, custom dash pinstriping, and cold-blowing air conditioning. The forward control design gives you a commanding view of the road, and the upgraded Equus gauge package keeps you better informed on the big power it's bringing to the streets.

The factory never offered anything as large as the 5.7-liter V8 that is currently powering this van. Plus, the hardy V8 has been enhanced further with an Edelbrock intake and shorty headers feeding the dual exhaust. This even has throttle body fuel injection to give you the ideal mix of power and consistency. A mighty motor like this needs the right supporting components, so it includes an aluminum radiator with an electric fan. The V8 is between the front seats, and that means it's behind the front axle. So you get a good weight balance for a better driver. And you also have terrific cruising features like four-wheel disc brakes, newer touring tires, and a four-speed automatic transmission with highway-ready overdrive.

The sale comes complete with build receipts and an itemized list of the work done. This is the sharp-looking and feature-filled restored van you've always wanted. But you're not the only one who loves something this cool, distinctive, and useful. So don't miss out, call today!
