1972 GMC Sprint SP Additional Info:
We are selling this Rare 1972 GMC Sprint SP. It is an Original California Sprint, I have some paper work and metal tag from the Protect-O-Plate indicating it was sold new in Bakersfield, CA.This is some info I got off Chevelle.com
Total production of '72 Sprints was up to 6473. GMC made a stronger effort to promote the SP model this year. In fact, both of the Sprints pictured in the '72 Sprint sales brochure were the SP model. This resulted in higher sales of the SP model, up to 749 units this year. Of those, an estimated 114 were the SP-454. Although not quite as rare as the '71s, the '72 Sprints are seldom seen today.
This Sprint has a nicely built 454 backed by a Turbo 350 automatic. Therearend is a built 12 Bolt posi, with sway bar and boxed control arms and QA1 upper arms. The truck is nicely optioned with Power steering, Power disc brakes, Power doorlocks, Tilt column, Remote Drivers mirror, Front and rear Bumper guards, DualExhaust, SS Gauges including Tach and Clock and Rally wheels.
The red paint shows nice with some minortouchup, chips and marks.Thechrome is decentThere is a small dent in the rear bumper. The stainlessaround the bed has some dings. The bed in nicely lines with Rhinoliner.The door panels are nice, the dash looks original with some age. The seat is cloth and is nice. The gauges, wipers, heater, blinkers, horn all work. I have been driving the truck back and forth to work and it cruises well.It has a nice new exhaust that makes the 454 sound mean. The truck hasplentyof power.
