Ok, finally have some time to tell everybody about the truck.
1970 C1500 Long bed half ton350 4 barrel4 speed manualManual steering and brakes (drum)
Purchased from second owner since 1997 who bought from original. Sat since 1999. Replaced fuel tank, pump, hoses and filter. Changed oil and replaced coolant. Starts first crank most times. Have not driven over 30-35 mph due to no tags or insurance, just around neighborhood. Planned on doing LS and later crossmember swap and making a nice daily, but life is life.
Original paint except for old repaint on passenger bedside and obvious fender-see pics for damage. Fender fits good and everything seem to fit ok. Had an abrasive graffiti removal on the driver bed side a long time ago. Otherwise paint actually somewhat decent for being incredibly thin (coming off roof ) and being a 1970-no real accidents or serious rust-cab corners need done, toe plates need minor work, and one 1/4 inch hole in drivers rocker. Floors; windshield surround, drip rails, all solid. Minor surface spots here and there but very solid for this type of truck.
Engine runs well. Has let run to operating temp several times and does not leak, smoke or knock. Does not drip oil, but has 50 years of dirt and oil stuck to everything so not going to say it does not leak. Did not see any fresh oil or coolant coming out. Pulls well thru first and second. Steers and stops like a old truck with manual everything and a shifter from a school bus.
Interior has the typical hole for a pull out stereo; so that sucks. But minus a couple holes for switches and crap dash is pretty solid and stock. Original seat is as expected; cover is mostly gone and foam has some pieces missing but not a total loss. I have seen lots worse in lot newer truck. Original rubber mat and a one piece rubber mat on top of i, both mostly there but cracking.
So that is about it for that. With not a lot of money and a little time this could be a really cool original truck. Build it to your taste before I put it away for the winter and build in spring.
Thanks for looking; feel free to message for any questions or pics. Buy and pick up at Hot august Nights!
