1980 GMC 1/2-ton Sierra Grande 15 pick-up. 2WD. Only 172K miles. 305 V8 2-barrel, TH350 automatic tranny, A/C needs work, great heater, MANUAL steering, bed size, short version: 76 1/4″ X 65 3/8″, OK tires and spare, Good exhaust and cat, gun rack, class-3 hitch and ball w/ trailer brake controller (needs to be checked), tranny cooler, inspected until 12/18. Not the prettiest, but a daily driver. Good project truck for the right restorer. I don't have a garage, so really can't tear into it. Has some typical Chevy/GMC rust. 2 side-saddle gas tanks, but garage broke switching valve last year, so one tank is currently isolated and unused. Will need a left-side ball joint, as it squeaks. At inspection, I was told it was safe to drive at it's current stage, therefore passed. Replaced floor pans/supports, cab corners, rockers, wheel arches and bed floor several years ago, but needs some areas retouched. Over the years, had transmission rebuilt('90), replaced harmonic balance, steering box, distributor, fuel pump, egr, carb, cap & rotor, plugs, water pump, radiator, A/C A6 compressor, A/C hoses, evaporator, condenser, rear main seal, front oil seal, timing chain, oil sump, fan clutch, master cylinder, upper & lower hoses, alternator, automatic choke, etc. Could use a carb adjustment by someone who really knows the DualJet. I use it for short trips around town, to haul yard waste and mowers in the Summer. The last few years, I've put on less than 1K miles a year. Comes with some odds and ends parts and the well-used Haynes service manual. Can see it by appt. If you love these old trucks and have the facility to work on them, here's the ideal project vehicle for you. Local pick-up. I also replaced the heater core and hoses, brake calipers/pads, shocks, charcoal canisters & other smaller items. Item status is subject to quick change or removal due to plenty of local interest.
