1957 Ford Fairlane Hideaway Hardtop Additional Info:

A beautiful rare 1957 Ford Fairlane 500 Skyliner retractable Hardtop Convertible, in great shape! *One ebay member informed me that the correct name for this early model is the "Hideaway Hardtop" instead of Skyliner, so wanted to clarify, I don't know everything about them. Here is an opportunity to own and invest in a classic, at the low side of the price point. All serious offers will be considered! I won't bore you on what they are worth, obviously up into the 6 figure range. Instead let me say that this is a really nice example, and will make a beautiful driver, and I don't have need to be greedy on the price. It has the coveted power brakes, power steering, air conditioning that is cold! Even added cruise control. It starts up at the turn of the key, engine and transmission are strong! It was pretty much completely gone through in early 2000 and up years, and lovingly worked on. It has been sitting lately quite a bit, and needs some detail, piddling and cleaning up. From everything I can tell the car has a great history and has been well cared for.The interior is overall in beautiful condition, just needs some detail. The torch red and black color combos are wonderful! The paint overall is fantastic, with some compromised spots rusting along the rocker panels, and a few rust spots near headlights and a few other areas. I will be happy to get more detailed pics with specific requests. It is all savable and just needs a reasonable body shop to shore it up from the last few years. Has the fender skirts, continental kit, and the chrome and bumpers in beautiful shape, as well as the coolest mirror spotlights. The frame and crossbeam are solid as a rock, and overall the car is a fantastic survivor. It will need some work and tinkering. It is somewhere between someone just wanting a nice driver, to someone wanting to invest to really make it a show car. But either way, it is a most safe investment. The more research I find on it, the more good news I get. The top functions are working for the most part. My mechanic is in the process of going through the motors and cables. We have gotten it to function and go down and up, and the rear trunk door up and down. It has a few bugs and I will update you as I know this week, but it seems sound for the most part, just a bit grumpy. Not sure about the miles. I attempt to be as honest and forthcoming as I can on my listings. So I will try to get the answers to any questions that you might have. Trusted and honest Florida dealer. I have a clear clean Florida title. In state customers pay sales tax and tag. Out of state just cost of car, and will receive clear title on the spot. I also will be happy to assist coordination of safe shipping anywhere. Please serious inquiries and bids only. All serious offers will be considered!! It's a wonderful car for somebody. The sale is as is, and payment is expected promptly, so ask any questions that you have. Inspections before end of auction are also welcomed. Thank you for your interest!
