1969 Ford Mustang Additional Info:
Up for auction is a real 69 Mach 1, 428 Cobra Jet, R Code Mustang that needs to be completely restored. This is a California blue plate, San Jose built car that spent its life in California until 2007. In 2007 agentleman from the town I live in purchased the car. It then sat in his shop untouched until this spring when I purchased the car.
The body on this Mustang is amazingly solid with no rust or replacement panels. All of the sheet metal is original to this car and in excellent condition with the exception of the hood, which is an original Ford hood but not original to this car. NO sheet metal will need to be replaced or patched on this car. You will be hard pressed to find a better bodied R Code Mustang.
The Marti report shows this car as an original San Jose built, Wimbledon white, 428-4V CJ Ram Air, Mach I with a deluxe interior. Options listed for this car are C6 Cruise-O-Matic transmission, Visibility Group, F70X14 Traction Tires w/ Raised White Letters, Sports Deck Rear Seat, Power Front Disc Brakes, Power Steering, AM Radio, and Tachometer. The car was built on May 7, 1969, and delivered to Towne Ford Sales in Redwood City, California.
The engine is not original to this car. It was rebuilt in 2006 and has never been fired. I have the receipt for the build. The engine block is a 1968 390, but the heads, intake, and crank are 428 parts. The crank has a 1U stamped on it. The rotating assembly on the engine has been balanced. I removed the the intake, heads, and oil pan so that I could see what I had. The transmission is a C6 automatic. It will need to be rebuilt. I don't see any numbers on the transmission. The differential is not original to this car, or correct for this car.
The interior was rough at best when I got the car. Due to mice I pulled off what I believe was the original red upholstery. The dash wiring harness is in excellent uncut condition.
Some of the parts included with this car are an original Ford Ram Air air cleaner, a NOS Ford fan shroud, and a NOS Ford front spoiler.
Please feel free to contact me with any questions you may have. I am happy for anyone to come and take a look at the car.
