Some of the most iconic body styles in the history of American automobile manufacturing came from the 1930’s, and these amazing vehicles are more popular today than they have ever been. Classic car aficionados & Hot Rodders alike cherish these wonderful cars of yesteryear.
‘Red Hills Rods & Classics’ is proud to offer you this gorgeous 1936 Ford 5-Window Coupe finished in original Light Fast Maroon wrapped around a beautiful dark gray interior! This beautiful Ford Coupe was completely restored in 2010 at a cost of $85,000, and was restored not only to look incredible but also to drive & enjoy! Let me tell you, they hit a home run with this one! All of the original body panels are laser straight all of the way around the car, and the Light Fast Maroon paint is one of the prettiest colors that I have ever seen on a 30’s era Ford. The chrome trim, bumpers, grille, hood ornament, etc., are all bright & shiny. This Coupe looks outstanding from every angle and has a perfect stance. She sits on 15” steel wheels painted body color w/ original Ford chrome hubcaps & beauty rings, wrapped w/ Coker Classic wide white-wall tires. The original rumble seat was completely restored w/ original 1936 butt springs & custom built steel plate brackets and finished in black naugahyde w/ Maroon stitching. It is fully functional and actually very comfortable. This has always been a very popular feature especially for kids who just love cruising in the back of their dad’s (or mom’s) Hot Rod!
Open the driver’s door and you will find an absolutely beautiful interior w/ the original bench seat & door panels finished in a dark gray cloth which is very comfortable and stays very cool in the summer months. This Coupe was converted to 12-Volt electrical system which is a must if you intend on driving your classic car. The original dash w/ beautiful woodgrain finish & the original gauges are still present and in beautiful condition, while a custom built instrument cluster was mounted under the dash which looks very clean and of course lets you keep an eye on the vital signs. Also, a set of electric windshield wipers were installed just in case it starts sprinkling while you are out cruising, and a instrumetn panel light switch was installed on the dash to control instruments lighting. Of course, the headlight lever in the center of the original Banjo steering wheel works perfectly. These modern upgrades were necessary because as I mentioned previously, the owner didn’t just want a show piece, but he wanted a car that he could drive & enjoy thoroughly without having to worry about reliability.
Open the hoods, and you will find an original Ford Flathead motor (59AB Block) w/ Offenhauser valve covers, Tattersfield 2x2 high-rise intake manifold topped w/ dual Stromberg 97 carburetors, thermal fan clutch w/ manual override, & bee hive oil filter. The Flattie is linked to a 1939 Ford 3-Speed transmission which feeds power to the original Banjo rear end. In over 16 years of selling classic cars, I have driven hundreds of Flathead powered Fords, and I can safely say that this is one the best running Flathead motors that I have ever experienced. She fires up instantly when you push the starter button and settles into a nice smooth idle. When I got her on the road I was pleasantly surprised by the power that she delivers, as she pulls hard though all three gears. Another nice surprise was how cool she ran, as we all know that Flathead motors have a tendency to run hot. After 45 minutes of driving in 100+ degree summer weather, she never got above 180 degrees. I also want to mention how well the 1940 Ford hydraulic brakes work, making driving around town in stop & go traffic so much easier. This 1936 Ford Coupe is an absolute blast to drive and will get more attention than you’ve ever had in your life! Every time I stopped at a light people were snapping photos on their smartphones and waving! All of the awards, trophies & plaques that this beautiful Coupe has accumulated will go to the new owner!
Again, the ‘36 Ford is one of the most iconic & timeless body styles ever built and it will certainly never go out of style! I guarantee that every time you take this Coupe to a car show or even to your local Starbucks, within minutes there will be a huge crowd around the car! This 1936 Ford 5-Window Coupe is for the serious car lover that doesn’t just want to look at his classic car, but wants to drive & enjoy it! Someone out there is going to get a wonderful vehicle. Are you that someone?
