1973 Ford Mustang Additional Info:
What we have here is an all original, numbers matching 1973 mustang convertible with 351 Cleveland. This car fires right up and is indriveablecondition but does need work. She will make a great weekend project car or a full on restoration. When these cars are fully restored they are worth 20k+ so this car is priced accordingly. I have attached a picture of the hagerty values of this exact model car as a reference.
All the Good:Engine runs strong and starts every time. I just did a fresh tune up with new spark plugs and wires. The automatic transmission shifts smooth and goes through all gears. I also took apart the carb and cleaned everything. Recently flushed the brake lines and added new fluid and the brakes now have great bite to them will stop on a dime. The tires are also relativity new and have about 80% tread left. Amazingly the power top still works without a hitch and folds away in seconds. The Hvac system still works as well and still get somewhat chill air coming out. I am going to try to recharge it over the weekend to see if I can get it cold. The paint has chips it it but still has plenty of shine left to it and the interior is actually in good condition besides a rip in the drivers seat and wear on the center console. All the headlights and tails work like new and all the little things like Windows and radio work fine as well.
What needs some TLC:The rear left leaf spring has started to give out so the car sags to that corner. I have a brand new pair of $300 leaf springs to fix the problem, I just never had the time to install them. The convertible top has a few holes in it but they are small enough where they can just be patched. The frame does have rus, mostly toward the rear where the seat belt harness bolts to the frame, and will need to be cleaned up at some point in time, but still has lots of solid points on it. Lastly the drivers door latch and trunk latch will need to be fiddled with or replaced.
Overall this is a strong 1973 mustang with Fords 351 Cleveland. It does need some cleaning up and TLC but all the major things work perfectly. If you fixed it up right the car is very valuable and would make a great investment. I am happy to send you videos or close up pictures of anything, I am up front and honest and not trying to hide anything. Thanks ZachOn Jul-23-16 at 09:12:15 PDT, seller added the following information:
