1964 Ford Galaxie Galaxie 500 Convertible Additional Info:
I have a solid 1964 Ford Galaxie 500 convertible that has only had 1 repaint and at this time still has under 100,000 miles but it will be slightly over at time of purchase due to pleasure driving.. The original owner was General Mills Inc on October 9th 1963. I have the original owners manual with General Mills Inc listed on it. It did have some rust repairs done to the lower quarters and front fenders long ago with the repaint but is overall a solid car! The car has a good power top with a nice original interior. The plastic back window is cloudy but still soft. The original top boot and storage bag are still with the car butunfortunately a mouse chewed a hole on each side of the top boot. A new boot is available. I bought dark blue duct tape to use as a temp repair. It has brand new tires and good dual exhaust. It also has all new brakes and lines! New starte, water pump, flywheel and more! I have lot's of receipts dating back to the 90's. In 2013 all the front steering was replaced including the power steering control valve and cylinder and even the front shocks and tires!! It has air shocks on the rear to adjust for cruise load! Also a new front trans seal installed and pan gasket in 2013! I have just installed a rebuilt 289 engine that runs great. The short block is from a 1966 Fairlane that is still standard bore and standard crank size. The top end is the original to the car, I had to replace the original block due to number 5 wrist pin going through the cylinder wall and into the water jacket. This is a great driving old car that has all the mechanical work done already and will drive for many years without any issues. The only things that I know don't work is the gas sending unit needs a new float so the gas gauge isn't working. The radio doesn't work and 3 dash lights are burned out. During my last parade cruise the left sun visor bracket broke. I could see by the dirt in the break are that it had been cracked for some time so it wasn't really all my fault.. Pretty minor things for a 1964 car!
The paint and body work is 30 years old and shows GREAT PATINA! It looks good enough to cruise in for years to come. Or if you want a restoration project this car has ALL THE MECHANICAL'S ALREADY DONE!!The floors are still all original and have some soft spots and a few braces that have some rust but once again this is an over solid car to drive as is. The trunk floor is original and is starting to have some softness in areas but nothing major. I was not able to get and pics of the bottom and I am away from the car so you will need to take my word on it and bid accordingly.
These old convertibles are hard to find in this shape. They are either a basket case or a $20,000+ rebuilt car! Here is your chance to get one for only a fraction of that price and enjoy it as it is or make it into your own personalized dream car!
The interior really only needs a dash pad and new carpet and a few repairs to the front seat to be in excellent shape. Please call 763-291-0343 if you need any more info. I have set what I think is a very fair reserve on this nice piece of classic car history so bid to own!Vehicle is located in Lakeville MN zip 55044. It is buyers responsibility to get shipping quotes and arrange shipping. Car does run drive and stop so it shouldn't be hard to find shipping.
Thanks for your time and HAVE A GREAT DAY! :-)
