1950 Ford F-1 Pick Up
Absolutely beautiful Professionally restored Ford Pick Up. This truck received a complete frame off nut and bolt restoration over ten years ago and still looks almost as good as the day it was completed. Original ford flat head V-8 that sounds perfect. Almost everything on this truck is as new or better than new. Every inch of it was restored. The underside looks a good as the top side. The motor was completely rebuilt and finished in the correct colors. It is truly a work of art. At the time the truck was restored the owner decided to make some improvements but wanted the truck to be as original as possible at least in appearance. The most costly and meaningful of these improvements was to exchange the 3 speed manual column shift transmission with a period correct automatic and not have it be noticeable. This was accomplished beautifully by leaving the clutch pedal in place and using the column shifter exactly as it was. To look at the truck you would swear it was the original 3 on the tree manual shift truck. The reality is now it can be driven easily in traffic or parades without the heavy clutch and farm gearing. It drives much like a new truck would today. He also changed out the gears in the rear so it can run at highway speeds with traffic all day. These improvements make this truck a joy to drive for any driver. He did this to make iteasy for him andhis wife to enjoy driving this truck. It has been properly converted to a 12 volt systemwith a modern alternator to add to its ease of starting and make it more reliable. It has a spin on oil filter and an added oil cooler and electric fan to assure it runs cool on the hottest days. Vintage style seat belts have been properly installed. All these improvements add to its enjoyment, safety and reliability and do not take away from the overall original appearance.
Look over all the photos as they are very representative of the condition of this truck. From the stunning chrome grill to the polished oak bed with stainless steel strips. The interior looks new and was 100 % restored as well. All the lights, heater and period correct added turn signals work as they should. The only thing I have found not to work is the fuel gauge. It is likely the sending unit but I have not had it looked at. It has a wonderful sounding duelstainless steel exhaust. Whether it’s for show or to just enjoy or to use a display this truck is a crowd pleaser wherever it goes.
If you own a business, a farm or small shop these vintage trucks are the perfect advertising to sit in front of your business. I've owned a lot of beautiful expensive vintage cars and none of them ever got the attentionor made more people smile than this truck. everybody loves a beautiful big red vintage truck.
Well restored trucks are an excellent investment and have been appreciating in value for years with no signs of slowing. This truck will be an excellent value for some lucky buyer. Don’t let this be the one you talk about years from now when you tell people about the great truck you could have bought for a fraction of what they are then worth.
