1973 Ford Mustang Additional Info:
Up for sale is a 1973 Ford Mustang Mach 1 Fastback powered by its original H-code 351 Cleveland 2V engine, Power steering, Power disc brakes, Center console, and equipped with a desirable 9-inch rear end. This is a complete, solid project car with excellent bones and 64,732 original miles.
Originally red, the car was refinished in yellow during its last restoration.
This Mustang is an ideal candidate for a full restoration and would make an excellent foundation for someone looking to build a strong, correct Mach 1.
Exterior & Body Condition
- Body overall is straight and solid
- Frame rails are solid
- Driver-side torque box needs minor repair but does not need replacement It is solid
- Floor pans are in decent overall condition; passenger side will require patching or preferably a full pan replacement
- Quarter panels were replaced during previous restoration and remain in very nice shape
- Driver-side door has a hole in the front inner section please see pic
- Passenger-side door is in excellent condition
- Front fenders are in excellent condition
- Original urethane front bumper is in very nice condition with only paint peeling/chipping
- Rear spoiler is cracked/broken (reproductions are readily available)
- Original Factory aluminum wheels are included and in good condition.
Drivetrain & Mechanical
- Original H-code 351 Cleveland 2-barrel engine
- 9-inch rear differential
- Car runs but will need mechanical sorting consistent with restoration of a classic car. It fires right up but has a high idle. We did not try to adjust /diagnose anything.
- Brakes are currently spongy and it looks like some brake lines in the rear habe been replaced with correct pre-bent brake lines.
- New front pads and rotors are included
