1964 Ford Other Pickups Additional Info:

If you want an E-pup that you can actually drive every day this is the one! We at the Jalopy Shop have been using this pickup as our shop truck for two years. Our plan was to get the mechanicals working perfect first and then blow it apart for a rotisserie build but we are to busy with customer work for the phase II.
When we picked it up we wanted a 3 seat pickup so we moved the engine back about a foot allowing a center seat to be installed, this drastically improved the weight distribution and allowed a center seat to be installed. The wimpy power of a sb ford wasn't going to do so an 5.3 LS was installed with a TH350 built by RTS in Spokane Wa. The ford 9 inch has highway friendly 3.00-1 Gears and true-track limited slip the gears work awesome in this light little truck. We did have a four link rear suspension on the list for upgrades as if you get rowdy with-it it will wheel hop and can twist the splines on the slip yoke( ask me how i know;)...) Currently the leaf springs have been moved inboard and mini tubs have been installed for the room to with the 295-50-15 tires and there is room for more tire if wanted.Gauges are handled via tablet with the Torque App, This allows you to monitor many things as well as check codes and perform a few onboard diagnostics available with the OBDII system. The front brakes have been upgraded with a D&D Disc brake conversion(this is huge as the stock brakes are very weak. The pup has been converted to power steering with a Toyota pickup power steering gear. A modern wiring harness has been installed. There are dual aluminum fuel tanks installed in the bed sides that flow to a surge tank that houses the high pressure fuel pump underneath the bed. The fuel system works good with the exception of days over 100 degrees with the rig sitting in the direct sun, we have had the gas boil in the tank causing it to vaper-lock and lose power. if you live in a very hot environment you may need to go back to the undermount fuel tank or install a tonou cover. There are a few small dents here and there but overall it is very solid. the only rust through is on the LF fender lip and there must have been plywood in the bed at one time that caused some rust holes in the bed. The previous owner, sandblasted the bed and then installed a early rubber-like spray in bed liner to cover up the holes. we have been peeling it out for repair and have it 90% out but there is still some more that needs scraped out before repairs can be made. The LS is the drive by wire version and the cruise control wires have been run to the steering column area but the switches have not been installed(wouldn't take much to have cruise control)
You can reach me at Rotten Leonard's Jalopy Shop 2087171132 (leave message) with any questions you may have. Overall this is a sweet patina'd daily driver or a very solid start for restoring to perfect condition for a show and go truck. Shipping quotes are up to you but we will help load your shipper from our commercial address in Lewiston Idaho 83501 or you can come pick it up in person and drive it home and see what's going on in the shop right now I do have another windshield that is in better shape that goes with it.
