What we have here is a beautiful 1940 Ford Deluxe Hotrod Coupe restored period correct as a traditional late 50's-60's California Hot Rod. She is finished with 10 coats of R-M Ebony Black lacquer paint on the body which is complemented by its one of a kind interior; black diamond pleated, button tufted upholstery seat and door panels. The headliner was also redone along with new black pile carpeting (cab and trunk). She has the original factory finish on dashboard and steering wheel. Overall this car is stunning and a solid #2 on anyone's scale.
This 1940 Ford Deluxe Hotrod Coupe is powered by a 300hp 1965 Corvette 327 cu.in. motor with power pack heads. Induction is handled by a Carter AFB 4 barrel with Corvette intake manifold. Exhaust has custom headers with functional 14" lake plugs and Smitty 22" steel pack mufflers. Transmission is a 3 speed Ford box and a Ford rear end. The engine adapter is Hildebrandt with Hurst front saddle mount.
This car has many features some of which are:
- Font end: 5.5" Dago axle (drop forged I beam).
- 4 tube shock absorbers with special tube shock kits (front and rear).
- Front tires 6.40 15" 4 ply bias.
- Rear tires 7.60 15" 4 ply bias.
- Instrumentation: Stewart Warner (Oil pressure, ammeter, vacuum, water temp).
- 0 to 8500 electric tach and sending unit.
