1965 Ford Galaxie Additional Info:
Up for auction is a 1965 Ford Galaxie 4 door police car. I am selling it because I want my little garage back and I do not take the car to shows like I used to. I bought the car in Iowa in 2003 - it was an all white sedan then. Over time it was converted into a replica of the Mayberry Sheriff squad car from the Andy Griffith Show. The door shields are magnets - there is also a set to make it a Detroit Police car. It has a functional siren/PA and light beacon. It also has a police radio. All of the emergency equipment is from the mid 1960's. The car is solid and runs excellent. With this being said, people naturally want to know what's wrong with a used car that they are considering investing in. Here are the negatives: slight oil leak, some rust here and there, upholstery (original) faded and some separation at stitching, dashboard damage near radio (when purchased it was a crack, bad repair job followed), a few body dings and scratches, and other minor incidentals. Now for the positive: excellent running car, nice paint and chrome, garage kept, low miles, and a few car show awards including 4th place at the 2011 Detroit Autorama for movie/TV themed vehicles. Questions and comments welcomed.
