1952 Ford F-5 (1 1/2 Ton) Pickup
This Ford F-5 is a fine example of 1952 history. It is such a fine example of that era that it served as a part of a railroad exhibit in a museum for 30 years. After leaving the museum it sat in a gentleman's private collection for a few years, it was there that it caught the eye of the current owner.
It has a modern Ford Small Block Engine, Vintage A/C & Heat, AOD - Automatic with Overdrive Transmission (with the authentic look of a manual stick shift in the floor), the brake pedal was moved to the clutch pedal position, Power Vacuum Brake Booster Installed - so that truck stops very well, the tires were also replaced. It steers easily and well. Triple Pass Radiator for optimum engine cooling. The mechanicals of this truck have all been gone through to ensure it's reliability and stability. The wooden bed is in great condition and has a pop-up goose neck hitch installed. There is also a 2" receiver hitch in the rear bumper. There is also a power inverter installed in one of the tool boxes, which is very handy for use in parades, car shows, and other events. The railroad signs on the cab doors are held on by 3M Tape, making them easy to remove, if desired.
This truck makes for a great advertising piece and can also be used as a unique photography prop. The best thing about this truck is that it is fully functional, with the perfect combination of modern touches that make it easy for anyone to drive. This F-5 is a very solid and practical truck with tons of curb appeal. You will not find many trucks like this one for sale, as the F-5's were used for more industrial/farming purposes and few survived.
