1929 Ford Other Additional Info:
We bet you think this full custom 1929 Ford Woody Wagon has that big cargo area because it's perfect for your surfboard, right? Well once you go over the supercharged dual-quad V8, slick paint, and all that lumber, you'll realize that big back area is so you can fit all the trophies.
The reason why you instantly gravitate towards this surf wagon is because of how fresh everything is. With barely over 400 miles on the build, the Root Beer Brown Metallic paint has the kind of sparkle that makes it look almost wet in the sunshine. The classic details are terrific with the taut vinyl roof, Ford step plates, bright bumpers, windshield overhang, and shining chrome grille. But you will also never mistake it for anything factory thanks to that massive motor and big dual exhaust tips. Plus, those huge rear tires may be nicely contained within the swoopy fenders, but they still can't help but give this one an aggressive stance. But we really know why you fell in love/lust with this hot rod. It's a beautiful hard maple that has been constructed with a craftsman's touch. It has the good finish to give the right gloss against the metallic paint, while still never losing the feeling of natural lumber.
Open the cool suicide doors to more craftsman-level wood. After all, we know you could just stare for quite some time at all the intricate patterns that make up the dash, sides, and trussed roof. This is a well-coordinated package where the brown velour on the bucket seats goes with the exterior-matching brown on the dash and tilt steering column. We could tell you that the full set of Omega Kustom gauges was a clear indication that there's something special powering this surf wagon, but you're going to be reminded of it every time you look just beyond the windshield.
The V8 has so much shine that it deserves to be showcased all the time. And the gold painted block is a masterstroke of attention-grabbing flair. When you look beyond the flash, you'll see the substance of a 350 cubic-inch motor that has been upgraded with plenty of go-fast goodies. After all, it's hard not to stare at the long air grabber, dual Edelbrock four-barrel carburetors, and Weiand 871 blower all brightly radiating on top of the motor. It also has the right supporting components, like Promaster starter, steel braided lines, and a Champion aluminum radiator w/electric fan. And shorty headers add power while also contributing to the rumble of the wrapped H-pipe dual exhaust. As you look underneath, there are some great pieces, like a drop axle front end with Panhard rod and a four-link rear with QA1 coilovers. You have power front disc brakes and a bold blue Ford 9-inch rear. Plus, the 700R4 Four-speed automatic transmission has a shift kit. That means you get to make the most of the four-speed's better powerband, and it also delivers overdrive comfort. That makes for a well-done total build.
