This car was built new in 2008 by Panoz for Equus Automotive as a prototype and test mule for a vintage Mustang concept in a modern automobile package. All new construction utilizing a Dynacorn reproduction body, Panoz chassis, and new 2008 GT500 drivetrain with huge Brembo brakes(6 Speed Tremec Manual and 500hp Fuel Injected and Supercharged 5.4). The interior is stock 2008 Mustang. Heat, AC, PS, cruise control, radio, ABS, TPMS, and power features are modern Mustang as well. The wheelbase is altered from a stock 67, thus the big flares to disguise the wheel arches. Motor sits behind the front axle for optimal handling. Approximately 4200 miles from new. The only Panoz GT500 built, the Patrick Dempsey sister car, a 1965 Fastback with a 4.6 just sold for 166K on BaT. Arizona title as a 1966 Ford with body style shown as 2DSD and First Registered Date of 06/1966. Not a restomod, but a modern car with a vintage body. Because this is essentially a stock 2008 GT500 Mustang it has OBD2 support, catalytic converters,and mufflers, serviceable by any Ford dealer or competent independent garage.
