An amazing amount of options for this Trailer Special! Also a pleasing color combo. I would keep it, but I have a 1978 Bronco that I am choosing over this truck. This Ford is still very original and comes with a Marti Report. This truck has been a Pacific Northwest truck its whole life.... The body had been repainted in the 1990's midnight blue. It was a cheap repaint, but saved it from rusting over time. The truck is in need of paint. The repaint is faded in places, peeling up in places, and has chips and scratches. The body seems very rust free except left front fender behind the bumper{pic}, a couple small holes driver side floor{pic}, and truck bed floor has holes in the panels close to the tailgate above the rear fuel tank. Cab mounts appear to be solid as do door jambs and cab corners, windshield frame, passenger floor and drip rails. Passenger rear corner of the bed was bumped in its history and poorly repaired{pic}. Factory cargo light works. Original spare still under the truck. It does have a bed liner that was installed 25 years ago. There are some maintenance records from 25 years ago that go with the truck. From what I was told from the previous owner, the truck was used lightly the last 25 years preserving the miles. Ranger interior options include full gauges and door pockets. Split bench seat is not original but very comfortable. Carpet is faded. Passenger side window is hard to roll up and down. Dash pad is dried out, but no major splits. Windshield has no cracks. Everything vacuum-actuated seems to work fine like the heater controls. Blower motor works. Air conditioning will need recharged but is complete. Dome light is original and works. Dash lights and all gauges work. I have owned about a dozen of these 78 and 79 Ford trucks and Broncos over the years. When I purchased, it ran poorly so I tuned it and repaired vacuum leaks. The steering also had some play so I replaced the track bar bushings. Steering stabilizer/dampener is missing, but steering seems fine now, not sloppy. I would suggest adding a steering stabilizer. I also replaced the glove box liner, repaired lights and blinkers as well as some other minor things. The brakes work great! Transfer case shifts smoothly but the Warn hubs are a bit sticky. Engine is stock and runs fine with good oil pressure. Even when warm it is still in the normal range. The automatic transmission shifts fine. The front fuel tank may need replaced. I have not looked into it. I just used the rear tank with no issues. Tires are an older set but no dry rot. It is 42 years old! overall a very solid 78!
