1946 Ford Super Deluxe Additional Info:
Please call Doug at 913-461-4890 for additional questions, pictures, and a video that you can see of this car. We can also add a "Buy It Now" price for anyone not wishing to risk losing the car to a last minute bidder or bidding bot. This is the first and likely only time this car will appear on ebay.
This is an extremely fun, professionally-built, and rare drop-top street rod with tons of upgrades to make it run and drive every bit as good as it looks. It gets ridiculous attention at car shows and cruise nights, so be prepared for that. And YES, the color does look like the pictures in the sunlight.
The LONG list of features starts with a drivetrain featuring an aluminum-headed 355 small block V8, burbly cam, great sounding gear-drive, ceramic-coated headers, automatic transmission, Heidt's front end, 4 wheel disc brakes, 4-wheel adjustable coilovers, Ford 9-inch rear end, poly gas tank, etc. It sounds amazing, drives beautifully and feels like a much newer car. It does not feel overtly heavy or clunky, and it handles very well.
This was not a cheap build, as evidenced by the number of options put into this car, including power steering, power brakes, power trunk release, power seats left and right, Vintage Heat and A/C, AM/FM/CD stereo system w/remote, tilt wheel, cruise control, full leather interior, full leather wheel, leather console including cup holders and hidden power seat controls, chrome tach, and a full set of Stewart Warner gauges in the original housings/locations. Unlike in most hot rods, everything in this one works! That includes lights, wipers, signals, horn, cruise control, AC, and stereo. Interior condition is excellent, including beautifully painted dash, new chrome, new gauges, and full console with hidden multi-adjustable dual power seats.
The car was properly chopped 2 inches to give it the right street rod look (if you've seen non-chopped convertibles of this era you know what we mean). It has a V-butted windshield, and the top is a high quality gray cloth that goes up and down easily, latches firm, has a glass rear window and tight-fitting matching boot.
Paint is a truly mesmerizing electric blue metallic base/clear that shows beautifully, all new stainless trim, frenched headlight bezels with new chrome, dual chrome side mirrors, rechromed front grille w/red trimmed inserts, blue dot tail lights, and nice chrome on all the windows (which go up and down just as they should). Wheels are chrome (not polished) American Racing 15" units with new rubber filling up the wheel wells, and the car is lowered in the front.
The restoration is about 10 yrs old and has 14000 well-sorted miles on it. It has no known mechanical issues at all, and has only a few minor cosmetic flaws, none of which require attention unless you just want to take it to the next level. It is ready to drive, show, and enjoy with the turn of the key.
IMPORTANT--READ THIS: Please have your finances in order before bidding on the car or agreeing to purchase. Do not bid until you've had your questions answered and are satisfied as to the condition of the car. We strongly encourage and enable personal inspections, whether in person or by a hired service. Realize you are buying a heavily modified, 70 YEAR old used car, not a factory original, 70 DAY old new car. No vehicle is perfect, and while we've tried to describe this car as accurately as possible, we can't possibly know every minute detail about cars we haven't built ourselves. We can help make all shipping arrangements, but buyer is responsible for associated costs. A $1000 non-refundable deposit is due within 3 business days of auction close, and the balance is due within 7 business days of auction close. Unlike most other dealers, we do not charge ridiculous dealer prep, documentation, or other fees, with the exception of actual bank wire and any overnight-type document delivery fees. QUESTIONS?
