1939 Ford Other Convertible Coupe Additional Info:

This 1939 Ford Roadster has an awesome color there inside & out, but that's just the beginning of this car's story. With a ton of custom work, upgraded suspension, proper V8 power, and even a rumble seat, this is an all-around head-turner. You know how you just can't get some cars out of your head? The consignor bought this car in 1954 and sold it a dozen years later. But he loved it so much that he bought... it back in 1986. When you love a car like this, it shows. He had a frame-off restoration shortly after the re-purchase and has been caring for it correctly ever since. Red always makes for a great cruiser, and this has the kind of shine that you'll proudly show off. As a true custom machine, there are a ton of cool custom details, like the vented hood, color-matched headlight surrounds, red inserts in the waterfall grille, first-gen Corvette wheel covers, LED taillights, and the bumper forks that let you see the curvaceous rear better. Plus, the white custom pinstriping on the trunk combines with the whitewall tires and white convertible top to give this a cool two-tone effect. Even when you take down the white roof, the two-tone style remains. So this has a great coordinated look inside and out - exactly what you want hen a roadster is open to the world. On this custom setup, the red provides a smooth look, and the white has the iconic tuck and roll pattern inserted on the seats, panels, and even the driver's floor. You have a cool banjo-style steering wheel on a polished tilt column, tall shifter, and a dash full of proper Stewart Warner gauges. And while all this is ahead of you, your real favorite feature is likely behind you. Rarely do you see rumble seat roadsters anymore, and this was the last year that fords came with them, thus such a low production number of 2,854 convertible coupes were made in 1939! And because this is such loved car, the details are right, too. That's why the seat has a matching two-tone and there are even proper side steps leading into it. The engine bay is filled with proper Ford power. It has a nice look with polished components like the air topper, alternator, and valve covers. And the 302 cubic-inch block has been given some nice recent investments. There are even good supporting components like a new radiator and an electric fan. The V8 inhales deeply with a Holley four-barrel carburetor and Weiand hi-rise intake. It exhales with authority as headers add power while also contributing to the rumble of the dual exhaust. This is built to be a cruiser, and so that means nice suspension pieces like an upgraded independent front end and a four-link rear w/adjustable coilovers. Plus, you have a three-speed automatic transmission, power brakes with discs up front, and rack & pinion power steering. The sale comes complete with plenty of receipts, owner's manual, and restoration photos. We even have a production sheet from 1939 that shows only 2,854 convertible coupes were built in 1939 compared to 20,704 built in 1940! This is the kind of car that you'll never forget, so don't let it slip away. Call today!!!
