1961 Ford Galaxie Starliner Additional Info:
Project car for sale, currently not running. No motor or transmission.
1961 Ford Galaxie Starliner, if you are interested in this car, then you probably know how rare they are. Only 69,000 of them were built in 1961 and not many of them are left. This car was built in the Los Angeles assembly plant on February 6th 1961
This car originally came equipped with a 352 cubic inch "FE" motor with 2 barrel carb and dual exhaust. Transmission was the small case cast iron 3 speed Cruise-o-matic. Original color was "Starlight Blue", interior is "Blue Shimmer".
This car sat in the desert for 15 years before I bought it, the last 18 years it has been in a garage.
Much work has been done to the car including:
New front brakes, calipers, hoses. The front springs are from a '90's Crown Victoria police cruiser. they are 1.5" lower than stock with a slightly stiffer spring rate, new spring cups/bushings were installed and new gas shocks. I replaced the factory sway bar with a 1" diameter unit from Quickor.
I have all the original steering components
The rear end was rebuilt using a newer 3rd member from an F-150, it has an open diff with 3.25 ratio. The rear springs are stock and were removed from a low mileage car that been scrapped. I also added rear disc brakes, with new braided steel hoses and new calipers and pads. The calipers are GM metric and the rotors are from a Ford Explorer. I also installed a 1" sway bar from a full size Bronco and gas shocks.
I have everything to put the car together except for the front seat, motor and transmission. I was planning on installed a 351 W motor and small block C-6 transmission.
The body does have some rust and will need a new trunk pan and some work done to the quarter panels.
The front windshield is gone (they are available) there is a new gasket and the rear window is installed, the rest of the glass is present and in good shape.
I parted out a low mileage and garaged 1961 four door Galaxie and have many extra parts, two hoods, trunk lids, tail lights, grills, dashes etc
This is one of those "must see" deals. I live in the south Puget Sound region between Seattle and Tacoma about 15 min from SeaTac Airport. If you would like to see the car and parts, please contact me to schedule a visit.
Note to Washington buyers, this car has a permanent registration to a pair of vintage 1961 plates, that come with the car (even has a 1962 tab on them)
I will not deliver this car, nor will I take payment from any shipper. Payment must be made in cash, in person before delivery of car and parts. Sorry no deals from Nigerian Princes....
I will not part out the car or sell the parts separately
