This truck is incredible!!!!
While driving the back roads in Lockport, Manitoba, Canada with a friend, looking for classic vehicles, we spotted this truck sitting behind a barn. We decided to take a chance and knock on the owner's door. When he came to the door, we told him we were interested in the truck that was behind his barn. He stated that it was a project that we wouldn't ever get to. We told him we'd like to save it and bring and back to life. There was snow on the ground so it was a bit tricky plowing his lawn and getting this thing to the trailer was a chore. The rest though, well, it is history!
My friend lives in Manitoba, so he towed it to his place. He got straight to work and spent many meticulous hours on it and now has it running and driving again! The carburetor had to be rebuilt, the brakes had to be sorted, the wheel cylinders were rebuilt, a new battery went in, the upholstery had to be replaced and most of the glass had to also be replaced. He managed to get the original dump box working, which retains its original factory wood floor! Speaking of original, the paint is all original and after a good polish, looks incredible. Talk about killer patina! To round out the exterior the Ford hubcaps were polished up and re installed and really make this truck pop.
Inside, the new Moore & Giles Leather seat upholstery and door panels look fantastic. To make sure things stay dry, a new windshield went in with new moldings. It also received new vent windows and a new passenger side window. All of the original gauges work and light up as they should! The heater and defroster work great and will keep you toasty if you decide to take it out in the cold.
This is one solid truck, with almost no rust. I'd say overall, the truck is 99.99% rust free with zero rust holes in the cab. This is the kind of truck that you want to buy if you are looking for the most incredible survivors i have ever come across. We have driven this truck around the property and it seems to run and drive amazingly well!!!! The tailgate has been reinstalled (it was off when these photos were taken), you could probably put this truck back to work. Think of how nice it would be to have that dump bed for your summer projects.
Here's a list of what all has been replaced:
It's a 50+ year old truck, so don't expect it to perform like a brand new vehicle. If you'd like modern performance, this would be a good truck to upgrade, but it's so original that it would be a shame to not preserve it.
If you have any questions about this truck or the auction, please message me and I will do my best to respond in a timely manner. I do reserve the right to end the auction at any time.
While I can't pay for it, I can help arrange worldwide shipping. I work with many good transporters and all major ports. I have transport companies that will charge .85 cents per mile plus tolls anywhere in the lower 48 and southern Canada.
