1949 chopped Ford coupe. The work done was performed by Impressive Rides in Clearwater FL. over the last 5 years on and off. I started with a body and the original engine block, nothing else! In the last couple of years we did new floors, trunk, firewall, brand new 8.8 rear end with 3.55 gears, rebuilt a 3 speed automatic transmission and used a Flat-O-Matic conversion to adapt the V-8 flathead to a more modern auto. transmission. It was recently wired 12 volt using a Ron Francis hot rod harness, powder coated the new driveshaft and wheels. The sub-frame is out of amid 90's V-8 Mustang. The dual Stromberg 97's have been rebuilt recently, bored 0.50 over, ported and polished heads, larger stainless valvesand it has a new alternator and electronic distributor. I have almost $8k into the engine alone! The steel body was just painted in a black/green patina. The hood was leaded and there was no bondo used during restoration, 190 louvers were added to the original hood and it turned out amazing. The underneath was painted black and detailed, the car was lowered and has new radial white wall tires, 4 wheel disc brakes, alloy radiator, steering column, alloy heads, 4" stainless steel Mercury crank, 3/4 race cam, custom headers, S.S. glasspacks, the glass packs have not been installed yet, but come with the car. It has a new Optima battery and hidden MSD ignition under the dash, the dash has been painted and pinstriped and completely re-wired. The orig. steering wheel was painted and looks show quality. The steel fuel tank is new and was powder coated silver. I have just over $19k invested and that does not include the price of the car, that is labor and parts. Needed to run is fuel line, brake lines, steering U-Joint, gas and brake pedal installed, comes included, lower radiator hoses, coolant, dualcarb. linkage, its already been wired, working lights and just needs a few little simple things to be on the road. The cost just to have this car wired was $2,700 and that did not include the harness. I also have the orig. rear bumper and all the brackets front and back, the bumper was re-chromed, but I do not have the front bumper. The bench seat came out of my 1971 Cuda and fits the car perfect, it already has dyna-mat over the new metal floors and is ready for carpet. The new 23" Lokar shifter is bolted in, but not connected to the shift lever on the transmission, a few weekends of work and this car will be back on the road, it hasn't been a driver since approx.1997. The flathead is going to sound wicked once its started, it was built with only the best of the best, no expense spared. The nice thing about this hot rod is, the hard work has been completed, now the next owner can put his or her personal touches to finish it. If you have any questions or would like to see the car in person, feel free to message me to set up an appointment. No trades or offers, we are moving and certainly don't need any more vehicles. It has not seen a drop of rain in almost 25 years, so the metal has been preserved and is as solid as you will ever find! I just cut out a 1953 Ford gas door and tig welded it onto this car, looks factory perfect and most cannot even tell it wasn't meant for this car. Dozens of other custom touches that blend so well you wont even notice most of them. I bought the car from its "Original" owner, only a 2 owner car since new!
A 1949 patina chopped Ford just sold on eBay last month that had a 350 Chevy motor, the car was running and looked almost identical to this, minus the engine and it sold for $25,500 on a no reserve auction. This car is certainly worth $12,995 and then some! Just the engine, transmission and chopped top cost $13K
The car is located in St. Petersburg, Florida 33710 close to Treasure Island Beach. This 49' Ford is a roller and very easy to move onto a flatbed, so delivery to your house or shop will not be a issue. I will be here to help load it and assist any way I can. Even comes with the original Florida license plate which can still be used if you live in Florida!
Also for sale is a 2008 BMW 328i sport edition with M edition wheels, one owner car. clean car fax. 61k miles, grey on silver that just had a $2k service for only $9,250. Fast and super reliable!
