The Grand National Roadster Show is considered to be the pinnacle of achievement for most Street Rodders. To win amonga field of the finest cars in the country is a herculean effort at best, and each year, only a handful of vehicles can claim the honor of "Best In Class" win from the illustriousshow. This 1929 Ford Model A Roadster Pickup is one of them, having bested the competition in 2013 just after being completed.
I typically take between 100 and 200 photos of most of my vehicles, because I like to describe and detail any flaws, faults, or blemishes for our future clients, both here, and abroad. I have only supplied 50 of this car, and it is because the vehicle is a 100% show-ready, world-class show car that is in impeccable condition, and has no flaws, faults, or issues to disclose.
With only 385 miles, the vehicle is still like new in condition, and has spent its like being cleaned and detailed for major shows the GNRS, or being stored in a climate and humidity controlled environment waiting for the next event.
Corky Schneider, a legend in the Havasu and SoCal street rodding world since him time with Don Blair speed shop, was commissioned to do the built, and when it was completed in 2012, the car exceeded expectations and made its major show debut at the 2013 Grand National Roadster Show where it took home 1st place "Best In Show''.
The duo-tone gray exterior is exceptional all around, and shows no sign of any issues whatsoever. It is 100% show floor ready, and the PPG single stage finish is so clean, clear, glossy, and smooth you would think it was sprayed on last night.
It rests on one of only a handful of Brookville ALL STEEL extended cab bodies that were produced with a cab that was stretched by 6", and a bed reduced by 6" to keep the correct proportions. Those unfamiliar with Brookville will be amazed by the perfect panel fit, exceptional gaps, and incredible straightness of all the panels.
A removable soft canvas top allows for a different look and protection from the sun when you need it, and all of the chrome, bright work, and trim on the car shows like brand new from front to back.
A chrome Model A grill shell gives it a great look, and the peep mirrors, headlights, windshield frame, and drop bar show as-new also.
Hidden tail gate latches open to reveal a gorgeous Oak wood bed that has never hauled more than a spec of dust, and shows like new.
Everything sits on top of a color-matched Brookville factory-engineered chassis that is just as beautiful as the top of truck is, and is ready for show mirrors.
Everything on the chassis benefits from exceptional, show-quality fit and finish, and it all works in perfect harmony to present like the award-winning show car it is.
A chrome and polished Super Bell dropped axle, chrome front suspension, hairpins, multiple leaf spring front, rack steering system, 4-bar rear, adjustable coil-overs, and more are either polished, chromed, powder-coated, painted, or detailed to perfection resulting in a flawless presentationfrom any vantage point. Duel saddle fuel tanks round out the underside, and the fFord 9" rear end gets the motors power via a new GM 700R4 automatic overdrive transmission.
Red steel wheels with spider caps and trim rings are a perfect wheel for this roadster, and the radial tires show like new all around.
A brand new crate motor from General Motors was tapped for a power source. 350ci and 300hp is just PERFECT in this lightweight machine, and the builder added an Edelbrock intake manifold and carb, Corvette valve covers, a painted to match Caddy air cleaner, heat coated headers, a mini hi-torque starter, electronic ignition, and a super duty cooling system.
Interior is vision of perfection, with Graphite tucked real leather seats and door panels, a fully trimmed interior, Mercedes-Benz quality carpeting, stunning carbon fibr dash insert that is fit with S-W gauges, Lokar shifter, and a rare tilt steering column topped by a perfect 1940 Ford steering wheel. The interior is so clean, neat, and perfect, you almost don't even want to sit in it. Almost.
There are absolutely NO known issues with the car, and it has resided in a climate controlled facility and started bi-weekly where it is allowed to warm up to operating temp, and then driven around the block before being cleaned and parked once again.
All of the electrical, mechanical, and functional items on the car work as it should, and it is quite literally ready to enter into an major judged event RIGHT NOW.
You cannot find a cleaner example of a GNRS class winning machine available anywhere that can compareto this roadster pickup, and it is certainly the perfect addition to any private collection.
That's about all I can tell you about the car.
