The V8 engine in this vehicle is very healthy and runs strong. It has a nice cam and upgraded ford aluminum racing heads which really come together and make a very powerful combo. The engine runs cool through an electric fan and an aluminum radiator. The performance 4 barrel carb is a nice upgrade as well. This motor is tight and ready for someone to make some final adjustments. The exhaust definitely needs to be installed as this car is very loud with only the performance headers and no mufflers. This is not a power steering or power brake car, however the vehicle steers without too much effort (especially if you have driven classic cars without this option). There are aftermarket manufacturers that offer these componenets if you wish.
I have all maintenance records dating back for many years. The falcon runs very well, starts, drives, and stops well.
I am going to be very critical to provide full disclosure of the condition of the vehicle.
The transmission needs some adjustment (believe it's a linkage issue) but it shifts through all gears and the electrical (gauges and signals need some troubleshooting). The cylinder for the power top was leaking but motor works well and top can be removed manually or cylinder replaced. The exhaust system is non-existent after the headers (open header) meaning that installation would need to be performed.
The paint is very driver quality but presentable. The floor pans need attention (pictured) but the car can be driven as is. The car has an old paint job but is not fading and is still presentable for someone who can only afford to drive/fix simultaneously. The hood and trunk are in very good condition. This car is a great candidate for restoration since the color combo and V8 are sought after for this model. Again the car can be driven an shown as is once the few issues mentioned have been addressed.
I am a car collector and I have many vehicles in line for restoration. I just will not get to make the improvements to this car due to all the other projects I have working now. I would like this falcon to go to an individual that can appreciate it's heritage and originality. Please expect for some work needing to be done before daily driving this vehicle. Many people who drive late model vehicles decide to enter the car collector hobby and they haveunrealisticexpectationsof the classic car experience. I would also ask for you to please research the pricing on these vehicles and realize that I will be letting this car go significantly less than most people would sell.
The tires all match and seem to have plenty of tread. The wheels are old-school slotted mags.
The 1964 Ford Falcon Futura Convertible is a very sought after classic muscle car. This example is an original V8 car (not converted) and I have documentation proving as such.
I have set the reserve at a very low price to afford someone the option of attaining this muscle car and making improvements as it is driven.
This car is an afternoon away from heading to your local cruise-in car show.
Happy bidding!
