1981 Ford Fairmont Durango Additional Info:
One of the 80 to 212 to 300 (who knows since no good records were established) Ford Fairmonts Futuras/Mercury Zephyrs Z7s that were converted into trucks by National Coach Products based in Gardena, California late into the 1981 year.Truck has rust spots over passenger side quarter panel and one rust spot behind sun roof. Paint is cracked in many places on driver side quarter panel where it seems like it had body work. There was a small rust spot that ate away at the rear bottom side quarter panel, but unnoticeable unless you get under the truck to look at it. Under chassis looks solid with some surface rust. 3.3L engine warning light comes on sometimes when pushing it above 55mph that seems to coincide withthe loss of power above 55 to 65mph. Transmission shifts good through all gears except it jerks into reverse. Engine hesitates a little, and has small oil leak seemingly from rear main seal. The person that I bought it from said it needed a tune-up, and he bought the truck from an estate sale. Eight Track Radio with no power to it so I don’t know if it works, and the horns (3 in all lol) electrically are not hooked up. Heater and fan works good in all modes. Looks like it needs a heater core because smoke comes out through the dash vents that smells like coolant. Has AC, but don’t know if it works. Dash has cracks. Part of headliner is coming off. Doors close and lock good. Windows are good. Brakes work. Lights work. Wipers work. Wheels are off a Foxbody Turbo Coupe T-Bird. Two tires are good, and two are bad. It has no catalytic converter and no exhaust return from manifold. Miles are a little above 52k since I have been driving it locally, and I do not know if it has rolled over 100k.
Has fresh oil change and oil filter, new air filter, new fuel filter, new oil breather. Replaced rear view mirror and air filter housing/ducting. Comes with spare tire and jack.
Bid to win, and make this VERY RARE Foxbody Durango truck into a nice little hot rod or just keep it original. Your choice. No reserve. This vehicle is for sale locally; therefore, if sold locally, this Ebay auction will be ended earlier than Ebay auction end. God bless and Happy New Year! No scammers.
