The idea of equipping a vintage muscle car with upgraded components to improve the driving experience it delivers is nothing new, but very few modded Mustangs can rival this 1970 Ford Mustang fastback. Its array of modern, top tier drivetrain, interior and exterior features combines outstanding curb appeal to produce a classic that will stand out in even the best of automotive company. The resounding vintage charm this fastback started life with has received some tasteful... yet dynamic customization, and a close inspection is needed to fully appreciate its awesome uniqueness. It's clad in Grabber Green - a color most closely associated with Boss 429s of this era, and it looks great in this setting, with a great shine and very smooth texture. The broad contrasting on the scooped hood adds to the vintage vibe and as you take a lap around the car the modifications really grab your attention - both the front and rear bumpers have been subtly shaved before being painted to match the rest of the exterior, Halo headlights and fog lights sit in the customized front grille and the door handles feature a satin texture in place of the usual chrome. LED taillights recessed into the signature Mustang triple-lenses in the blackened panel add a distinctive look in back as they bracket a Cobra-style gas cap. There's certainly no shortage of style on display here. < BR> The interior is essentially new and traditional Mustang elements that are complemented by an array of modern upgrades to produce a world class driving environment. The textured look of the front buckets and rear bench seat will be instantly recognizable to any Mustang fan, but they feature leather inserts and, owing to their light usage, show very little, if any, sign of wear. The buckets straddle a great looking custom center console that offers both a sizable storage compartment and carbon fiber accents to match those found on the dash area up front. Just in front of the driver's seat, the billet steering wheel sits on a tilting chrome column, waiting to be grasped as you put this classic through its paces, and if you peer through it, you'll see an assortment of AutoMeter Cobalt gauges in their own carbon fiber accented cluster, with a pair of billet pedals below. Air conditioning cools the cabin through in dash vents, while an AM/FM stereo with iPod connectivity stands by to handle your audio needs. The trunk area is nice and tidy, with a new expanse of carpeting to line its floor. The array of top tier mechanical components this '70 features is every bit as impressive as the style it exudes. A 408 cubic inch V8 - its outstanding displacement coming by way of boring and stroking an already potent 351 Windsor - sits in the show-worthy engine compartment, surrounded by Grabber green inner fenders and firewall. It's been armed with an Edelbrock cam, intake manifold and aluminum heads, as well as Hedman headers leading to a Flowmaster dual exhaust to further maximize its output, and a set of very sharp aluminum valve covers and a complete March pulley and bracket system to enhance its looks. The outstanding, newly added powerplant - it's logged fewer than 1000 miles - teams with a 3-speed automatic transmission that debuted at the same time. A Unisteer power rack and pinion system combines with a Ridetech front suspension for a great ride and improved handling, while power disc brakes, featuring Wilwood slotted and drilled rotors, provide excellent stopping power. This exceptional Mustang rides on a set of 18" Ridler wheels that are wrapped with Kumho tires. Looking to get the last word as far as modded Mustang magic?
