1959 Ford Thunderbird Additional Info:
For sale a Light Blue 1959 Ford Thunderbird Convertible. This car was driven by Lou Diamond Phillips in the 1987 movie La Bamba.I am listing this car for my Father, please ask if you have any questions and I will see that they get answered. This car was rebuilt for the movie La Bamba, therefor the actual mileage of the car is unknown, the odometer say 10276 and probably the mileage since being rebuilt. They did a really nice job on it. It has not been driven a lot for the last 15 years. The body and interior are in good shape and has always been parked inside in dry Northern Arizona. It has factory Air Conditioning, P/Steering, P/windows, P/Top, and the expensive Kelsey Hayes spoke wheels. It has a brand new fuel pump and Holley carb. It could use a good home, an oil change and wiper blades. Known issues are, Dad says the top needs to be adjusted a little bit, I found factory instructions on adjustment online at a Thunderbird place. It could probably use the front end checked out and alignment. It has period correct white wall bias tires, but still seems to cruise nice at 65-70. Engine starts right up and doesn't leak, get hot or burn oil, it is very strong. I think it has dual cherry bomb mufflers on it. Sounds really nice! Has chrome Ford Racing valve covers and we have the originals that will go with it. Have not used the A/C in a couple years, so we don't know if it works, but everything is there and it did work. It has a little nick on the drivers inside end of one of the tail wings that has touch up paint on it. Have to look close to see it. Otherwise the body paint and trim are all nice and straight. Chrome is all very nice and the top is like new. We have always kept the top down. No rust that I can see on the body. Trunk is clean with original covers. The car is a head turner andhas attracted a lot of attention for years at the Kingman Route 66 Fun Run. Really is a beautiful classic car and a piece from movie history. We will consider offers.
