READY FOR SOMETHING DIFFERENT?
CHECK THIS ONE OUT!
Most Ford & Mustang guys in general agree that 1969 was the best year for the classic pony car. That being said the general consensus is variety makes the brand more interesting. As awesome as the Mach 1 cars are they can easily become bland in today’s market place. Sit back and enjoy the pictures & video of a Mustang that draws attention each & every time it leaves the garage!
DISTINCT & DIFFERENT FROM THE MUSCLE CAR CROWD!
Up for sale and immediate purchase is this beautifully restored 1969 Mustang Grande Custom that has only been in the hands of two owners! The serious buyer is strongly encouraged to call (314) 649-8227 to find out how to acquire it now! It will be listed on other websites & for sale locally “DON’T MISS OUT”!
Many things can be said about the pony car that you see pictured here. It is the product of a Mid West collector who invoked upon a no holds barred meticulous restoration a short time ago.
I was fortunate to stumble across the car by word of mouth. The individual who informed me about it said the owner was thinking about putting the vehicle up for sale.
At any rate I reached out to him and we set a date that would be feasible to check it out.
When the appointed time came I was more than impressed by what I found.
First off it must be stated that very few Mustangs during the 1969 model year were lucky enough to be matted to the 351 M code power plant. Even the majority of Mach 1 cars came equipped with the 351 2/V H code designation.
Therefore when you consider a 351 4/V being dropped in the engine bay of a Grande “you’ve got something that won’t be seen daily”!
I honestly have always had a soft spot for unique Fords. However the 58 k mile vehicle that you see pictured here has made me appreciate them a little more.
From the previous owners perspective it has always been stored & cherished (accident free vehicle)! Believable when you inspect each panel.
The cars structural integrity is really noteworthy. Most of the tooling is in step with manufacturer specifications.
This particular model was off the road for approximately 22 years and had recently come out of storage.
By all accounts the lion’s share of the restoration was performed by a high profile shop by direction of the original owner.
There is little doubt that the body was stripped and media blasted before being covered in enamel.
The fit and finish is very respectable so it’s easy admire the cars overall appearance.
Being a harsh critic makes it difficult for me to consider most exteriors show quality however you will have no problem holding your head high at the local car cruise with this one.
Many attributes make it a fan favorite. The Fire Engine red exterior shines at any given time of day and is almost blinding in direct sunlight. A base coat clear coat finish takes place of the original urethane material.
It has been Christened with a Mach 1 style hood kit that really wakes up the exterior.
Chrome accents are sprinkled throughout which provide excellent contrast. This pony also sports the upscale trunk edge moldings & nostalgic 351 Badges that hug each fender (distinct to the 69 model year only…..not commonly seen)!
A bold front chin spoiler leads the way up front complimented by dual sport mirrors.
The Grande Décor package helps enhance the body further by aid of wheel lip moldings & signature script located along the roof line.
The front & rear bumpers have been replaced with N.O.S chrome replacements.
A RACE READY hood scoop has been wonderfully situated on the factory lid & a near perfect vinyl top finishes things off!
The total picture is quite striking and can’t help but make you the envy of all (when you’re cruising)!
She is really buttoned up nicely “commendable quality investment”!
“TAKE A FINAL PEEK”
Upon opening the door of this Grande you will find a luxury raven black interior! This Mustang has been treated to every option in the book for the model year!
Almost every stitch of the upholstery has either been replaced or refurbished. The deluxe front buckets & rear bench are in pristine shape!
The head rest were even considered worthy of receiving new cushioning.
Updated loop pile carpet is sealed to the chassis. A FLAME RED set of pony embossed floor mats adds just the right touch (amazing contrast)!
Each deluxe door panel is in great shape and happens to be original to the car. The courtesy lights still illuminate when either one is open!
Placed smack dab in the middle is an iconic deluxe rim blow steering wheel & center console “leaves no doubt Ford was swinging for the fences”!
The cockpit is laced with simulated wood grain throughout. The front dash has an upscale clock that has been incorporated wonderfully!
A disc brake pedal can easily be detected once inside that gives the driver total confidence when cruising.
When you throw in A/C and a factory style stereo there’s not much more one can ask for!
NO MUSTANG CAN BE TRULY CONSIDERED A FREE RUNNING STALLION WITHOUT HAVING A FACTORY V/8!
Thankfully Ford didn’t buck the trend when this one was assembled. The factory M-Code 351 can still be found underneath the hood.
The block itself was totally rebuilt for performance a short time ago! This makeover of sorts has the vehicle operating at its optimal range.
Horsepower ratings from the factory for these cars very respectable right out of the box however several new internal components make it much more exciting to drive!
An original cast iron intake still sits atop the block and new American Muscle 4/V carburetor distributes the fuel.
Forged pistons and stainless rockers help contribute an honorable H.P. punch!

Dependability is a cinch thanks in part to new plugs, 8mm wires & voltage regulator.
The belts have been replaced along with both radiator hoses. A Motorcraft solenoid takes the place of the original one.
To top things off the radiator has been replaced with the water pump, high volume oil pump & thermostat.
Many more performance parts were installed to keep it reliable (vacuum advance, cap, rotor, alternator, starter, battery, etc.
A set of menacing chrome valve covers & a chrome air cleaner further enhances the engine bay. Everyone seems to love the gold encrusted manifolds!
Hardened valves seats have been installed so the vehicle can burn modern unleaded fuel “an important aspect that many fail to do”! No short cuts were taken.
The decision was made late in the restoration process to add new power steering equipment to help provide superior handling!
An infectious growl trumpets out back by the aid of dual exhaust!
This car is simply a blast to drive & it sounds incredible when the throttle is engaged!
Tucked underneath each corner is a eye catching triple chrome 17 inch mag wheel! All are in excellent condition without a single scratch “absolutely no curb rash”!
Spank brand new Z rated performance tires hug the metal!
The total set up produces a picture of performance and customization that works well on this particular model! COMPLIMENTS AT EVERY CORNER!
All of the small details make this pony special!
Again this vehicle is ready to be enjoyed fully! The time, resources and labor hours spent to formulate what has been produced can’t be properly measured “rare opportunity”!
Here’s yet more good news “she’s just as nice underneath”! Expect to find rock solid, trunk, frame, floor boards & drop offs (NO RUST OR ROT WORRIES)!!!!!
Here’s a few more close ups underneath.
A few parting shots.
At the end of the day I can say that this vintage vehicle would be a nice addition to your collection! There are plenty of service records that will prove valuable regarding its history.
A nice car cover and owner’s manual are also included. Much more can be said …. again this sharp little Mustang is will be up for grabs elsewhere so the serious buyer is strongly encouraged to call!!! I am available anytime (314) 649-8227.
