1961 Ford Galaxie Additional Info:
The first thing everyone wants to know is if it is an 'original HiPo' car...the answer is 'NO', BUT it has EVERYTHING matching 'HiPo' except the front brake line and 5 leaf rear springs (both easy changes). This has the original data plate with original fasteners and it is a "Z" code (390/all HPs), 3 speed-Overdrive car.
BODY: NEVER any rust or dents or dings. The 40K ORIGINAL mile paint was faded so the owner had it repainted by the best known painter in Southern Florida. It is PERFECT. ALL chrome, stainless, trim, grille, rear panels, tail lights and headlights bezels, hubcaps, rocker moldings are excellent ORIGINAL with NO dings or dents. Even the washboards don't have any dings! A FEW-SMALL bubbles on the door handles. ALL glass is perfect as all ORIGINAL-pliable rubbers. New trunk mat and spare with original jack. NEVER ANY floor pan or trunk rust. The ugly green you see on them is FACTORY applied (Southern cars) primer-paint and has only been polished.WHEELS are Kelsey Hayes 5" X 15" HiPos with new G-70 x 15" tires. ORIGINAL 'big' (3") 4-Pin brakes,3/8" gas line.
MOTOR: A rebuilt correct '61 HiPo 390 with number matching heads, intake, factory cast iron headers and (later '61/'62) three Holleys. Starts, runs cool and drives out FANTASTIC! Correct/original fuel filter and original 'Fan-Caution' sticker (rounded corners). All original radiator rubbers pliable. Original 3 speed and working overdrive (so you can do 120mph in 2nd gear). New clutch disc and pressure plate. Owner installed NOS 350 'Detroit Locker' (worth $1,000). Easy change to a 9" 'Posi' if desired. New exhaust with correct NOS mufflers.
INTERIOR: ORIGINAL seats (no tears), door panels, headliner, no cracks-padded dash, perfect steering wheel (no cracks or wear), thick clutch pedal cover. New carpet. Yes, red cloth is slightly faded and easily changed, but I would leave it that way to help 'prove' this car is original.
MISC: If this car was an Original HiPo car with proof, it would be another $20-$30,000 as a 'perfect-restored' one sold for $125K 5-6 years ago and is now for sale for $195K. I have been into cars for 60 of my 75 years and prefer rust-free originals like this that you can drive, yet be proud to show and amaze people with its 'originality'. Even MoPar and GM people love 1961 FORD Starliners. I am selling this for a real good friend in Southern Florida (Ft. Meyers) that does not have a computer or need the money and will take less CASH, but may change his mind (to sell) at any time, so I suggest quick action. Clear FL. title. Can arrange shipping at a fair price.

Received a question/comment but couldn't answer? Someone said how correct and rare the '3 hole,'61 only' air cleaner is and I forgot to mention that. I came across this car 25 years ago in an Atlanta collector's warehouse and it had 38,000 miles then with the original/running 390/300HP in it. In his 'engine room' he had this complete/correct/rebuilt 390 HiPo motor ready for the '61. He also had a 409/Z-11 and a complete 'Mystery Motor' in that 'Vault'. My good friend bought the car and motor (NOT CHEAP) about 8-9 years ago and will not be making very little 'profit' on this 'one of a kind' rare-original car. Oh yes, if you click on the pictures, they enlarge or 'arrow' R or Left. The Buy It Now and Reserve are at their lowest (less for CASH) and as I said....he may change his mind to sell at any time.
