1975 Ford Mustang II Additional Info:
1975 Ford Mustang II, from our Dad's Estate:
THIS IS PROBABLY THE LAST TIME WE ARE GOING TO LIST THIS PARTICULAR CAR TO eBay. We have lowered the starting bid to our minimum price. Please email us with your telephone # prior to bidding so we can telephone you and talk to you first to make sure you are a legitimate bidder, aren't a kid, and are serious about the car. Sorry for any inconvenience, this is for your protection and ours since we had someone who wasn't serious the last time car was put on eBay. Thanks for your understanding. Please note: Of the many emails we've received about this mustang, we've received at least one email offering to buy this car for a price lower than the minimum of $750 if it doesn't sell on eBay (after the auction ends); please be aware, we are unable to violate eBay policies by selling the listed item outside of eBay to a contact made to us via eBay email. If you want the car, $750 is the lowest price estate is willing to accept;price will not be lowered any further. Fair warning, this is probably the LAST TIME WE ARE LISTING this particular car to eBay.Please keep in mind, last month we started out at $1500 as price on this car; the heirs feel we've been more than fair in lowering the minimum price to $750.Thanks for your consideration.
This car used to belong to our late grandfather who bought it new during the gasoline crisis of the 1970s. He used it to drive to work every day from his house out near the airport in Unity Township, Westmoreland County, PA to the Kennametal Kingston Plant, near Latrobe, PA. Grandpap was an electrician at Kennametal. Grandpap's other car was not fuel efficient, he liked to drive big, comfortable cars like Lincolns and Buicks. In general, Grandpap liked big cars with cushy seats with plenty of head and leg room. But, for Grandpap to drive to work, he used this little Mustang because it was "Good on gas!" Grandpap did smoke cigarettes, I do not know whether or not he smoked in the Mustang as I was just a kid at the time and never rode in this car with Grandpap. When I photographed the car, I didn't notice it smelling smoky. Please keep in mind that this car hasn't been in Grandad's possession since possibly circa 1993. I do know that my Dad was a non-smoker and he did not smoke in this car once Dad got it. At some point about the time when Grandpap retired from Kennametal and he and grandma moved to Florida, I believe the car was stored in a garage in PA while Grandpap was in Florida. On April 28, 1993, According to the original title from when after Grandpa died, the car was transferred to my late mother, the odometer reading was 051800. My late father used the Mustang but rarely drove it; Dad only put 1,102 miles on the car after he acquired it in 1993. Dad liked to drive big, 4 wheel drive trucks, so the Mustang wasn't taken out very often. Mom never drove the Mustang; she refused to drive cars without air conditioning. Prior to the tree falling on it, the car did run; Dad had it registered, insured and running until circa 2012. About that time, Dad drove it to one of his properties and parked it under some trees. Sometime circa 2012 (I can't remember the date exactly), a tree uprooted and fell on the Mustang. At the time, Dad felt the car engine, interior, and parts were of possible value to a Mustang restorer/collector, so Dad towed the tree damaged car to a garage shed on that property. The car was kept inside in that garage /shed until we, as executors of our Dad's estate, sold that property in 2015. Prior to the real estate closing, we had the car towed out of the shed in 2015. Since then, we had to store it outside. We have had it covered under a plastic car cover / tarp to keep rain/snow out of it.
CAR IS BEING SOLD WITHOUT KEYS. We do not know where our Dad hid them. After clearing out his house and in the process, looking pretty much everywhere we could think of, we do not think the keys are find-able. Near the end of his life, our dad got very confused and threw out a bunch of things that he shouldn't have. He also began hiding things in the most bizarre places. We feel if the keys were find-able, we'd have discovered them when clearing out the contents of his house. Sadly, this Mustang simply doesn't have the keys. This car has a clear, PA Title. As seen in the photos, the tree did damage. If there is a view of the car you'd like to see that isn't in the photos, email me and I'll go take a picture and will answer your questions. As evidenced by the car's Kendall oil change sticker (on the inside of the driver's door from around about the time Grandpap had it), the sticker shows a 1987 oil change with car mileage at 40,947. The Engine's miles are Original at 52,902. Betwen 1987-2012 this car wasn't driven very much, only approximately 12,000 miles from circa 1987/1988 to circa 2011.
After the Tree Fell on it:
As seen in the photos, the uprooted tree did a number on the car. Even so, we are presuming that someone who restores mustangs would want this car for parts/engine/seats, etc. for their restoration project. As you can see in the photos, the seats are pretty NICE considering their age and engine is with low original miles and was running until the tree fell on it in circa 2011-2012. The passenger door cannot easily be opened closed due to the metal damage. If you open it, you won't be able to close it without a major hassle. The drivers side door opens/closes. The tree made dents, scratches, etc. There is typical lower body rust. The Windshield was smashed up and the rear view mirror fell off and hit something in the car causing the mirror glass to crack. There is damage to the rug in the driver's foot well area where the carpet is missing. The driver's seat has damage as shown in the one photo where the vinyl got damaged in a diagonal mark. Since we didn't have the key to the trunk, we found that the rear seat was detached and we moved the rear seat and looked into the trunk compartment. From this perspective, there appeared to be cover back there, where underneath there may or may not be a spare tire and jack? We do not know if the spare & jack are there since we couldn't open the trunk in a normal way and therefore didn't attempt to crawl into the trunk from the vehicle's interior to investigate further. The rear tail light on the passenger side is cracked from the tree incident. (see picture). As seen in the one photograph, the passenger door upholstery, the mirror, the car's antenna, etc., are what we found inside of the backseat of the car. I laid them out on the ground and photographed them so you could see what parts are there. We do not have photos of the underside of the car. The car is now parked outside in a yard and it belonged to a regular person who was not a mechanic; therefore, we do not have on-site ability to raise the car onto a lift in order to take underside photos. If you are a serious buyer who would like to come and look at the car PRIOR to placing your eBay bid, please email me so that may be arranged.
