The 1939 Ford five-window business coupes are always popular, but this all-steel body has all the right features to be a cut-above hot rod classic. With a powerful Chevy V8, a nicely finished interior, and plenty of charisma, this is the custom moonshiner you've always wanted. The extended trunks of these cars were a favorite of liquor-running outlaws, but in this case, the once inconspicuous styling is now long gone. It's been replaced with a terrific modern and bold red.... You can tell from the level of luster on this machine that there was a solid investment in getting the paint looking amazing. Plus, there are great custom touches, like the LED taillights, rear accent pinstriping, and custom rocker pinstripe that announces this is a '39. But the reason you really love this one are all the brightwork touches. Teardrop headlight surrounds, V8 grille accents, mirror-like bumpers, and dual exhaust tips - it's all part of a very artful factory package that still looks great today. And nothing beats that factory trim line that runs the full-length of the car and hooks around the Ford name in the front. Plus, those 15-inch wheels with spinner-style center cap add to this custom's shine and distinction. When you open the door, the custom red presentation continues. This is a very thoughtful custom-built interior, and that's evident from the moment you see the side panels with a trim piece that mimics the exterior trim on the hood. Red leather bucket seats up front give you the right kind of bolstering for all-day comfort. Plus, there are great features like power windows, an AM/FM/cassette stereo, and provisions for air conditioning. Your hands rest comfortably on the Lecarra steering wheel, and beyond that is a full VDO gauge package that lets you know what's going on in the engine bay. You better put on your sunglasses before popping the hood. This 350 cubic-inch Chevy small-block V8 has been specially built for show. With polished components like the alternator, compressor, etched air topper, and matching valve covers all radiating within the slick red engine bay, this one is absolutely looking terrific. But more than just a strong presentation, this is a strong running, too. That's why you have the right components like a Holley four-barrel carburetor, MSD distributor, and aluminum radiator with electric fan. The full package fires up nicely, and it gives a nice growl from the dual exhaust. And as you're checking out all the photos, you're going see great enhancements like a Mustang II-style independent front suspension. Plus, there's also a three-speed automatic transmission, power steering, and front disc brakes. This is a coupe that could have been a moonshiner back in the day, but survived to be a creature-comfort hot rod. We know these unique cars don't stay long under our showroom lights.
