Here is the story: I have known this truck for 25+ years. It's last overhaul to this incarnation was done about 1990ish. Before that, the truck's history is a bit of an unknown. It had been sitting in a garage in southern California for about ten years when I got it...and then another four with me in central Arizona. I finally got it out of storage, and started messing around with it. I put new tubes in the bias ply tires, changed the fluids...and then did some more in depth stuff. The wiring was pretty rough, by age and by execution. So that got replaced with a 22 circuit KwikWire harness. Overkill for this truck at this time, but I had been toying with the idea of doing it up more modern. The wiring is now there for power everything, if you choose to go that way. The fuel tank was flushed and a new electric fuel pump put on. She starts, runs and moves under her own power. I haven't taken her down the road too far or fast, I really don't know how good the bias ply tires are. The DOT numbers put the rears somewhere in the late 80's! I know the rear diff is geared pretty tall...feel like 2.73's or so. Needless to say, I don't know if the overdrive works.
The truck has a 351w with a Holley 600, and Ford Dura spark ignition. The transmission is an AOD, automatic with overdrive. Front suspension is Mustang II, with GM calipers and rotors. The rear end is a drum brake 9". Power steering and power brakes. There are VDO gauges, but the speedo hasn't been connected for quite some time, probably not since the AOD was installed. The headlamps, turn signals and stop lamps work as they should.
There is atire scuff, very minor indentation in front left fender. Small area, about half dollar size, rust coming through driver's lower door...That's it, that's all.
The truck has patina and a good stance. It would be a great candidate for an LS swap, or a fun toy as it is. She could use some interior help, but she's all there. I can get more pics if needed, just let me know.
I can help out with storage until pickup can be arranged, so long as it's within reason. Please, check with any significant others, wives, parents or other important peoples before bidding. I have been hosed before by people neglecting to make the proper plans...like divorce proceedings.
