1966 Ford F-100 Custom Cab Additional Info:
Up for sale is my 1966 Ford F-100 Flareside, it has 115,486 original miles, Assembled in San, Jose, CA in March, 1966. It is the flareside long bed. It has the 240ci Straight-6, with the Borg Warner T85N 3-speed column-shift manual coupled to the Borg Warner R-11 overdrive from the factory. Factory 2WD with 4.10 gears. Custom Cab trim level with the fairly rare dealer option Oil and Amp gauges. Rangoon Red paint with a non factory two-tone added at a later time before I purchased it. I believe it was only repainted once. I believe the interior is original, the seat, paint, and dashboard trim, as well as the headliner. I'm not entirely sure if the floor mat is factory, but it looks correct. I also have the door and window handles, as well as the the door plates that went where the optional door storage pockets would have been. As far as the condition, it is a very straight and clean truck, it even has the original hubcaps, with minimal rust amounting to some in the front of the bed box, as is common with any wood bed truck, and light surface rust on the bed box. The bed is a sheet of plywood currently, I wasn't sure of what kind of wood I wanted to use, so I left it as is. The frame is very straight with very little signs of aging, with no repairs or damage that I can see. The engine does leak some oil, the pan gasket could use replacing, but that is fairly easy. I did have to replace the fuel pump and heater core, but I kept the originals. it runs very well, good power and very responsive, bone stock engine with only modern plug wires, plugs, and a rebuilt carb. It still has the oil bath air cleaner. The shifter linkages are tight, and it shifts very smoothly, and the overdrive works perfectly, the steering is also tight with minimal play. The brakes also got a complete rebuilt, with new wheel cylinders, springs, shoes and soft lines. It is a very fun truck to drive. The reason why I'm selling this great truck is because I want someone else to enjoy this truck as much as I have and have more time to restore it to its former glory than I do.
