We love first generation Ford Broncos because they are a cool convertible around town and are off-road 4x4 ready at a moment's notice. It's a skill set that never goes out of style, especially when all these qualities have been enhanced so well on an example like this 1973 example.
The boxy bodywork gives this SUV a real machismo, but there's a lot of style to this one, too. The shade of red is bold enough that it could have just as easily been used for a hot rod. And then there was an intimidating black that was added on the Bronco script, fender flairs, and upgraded cowl hood. Of course, the black elements you'll love the most are the ones that add to the off-road function, too. These include the tubular front bumper w/integrated guard, full roll cage, tough 15-inch wheels, and the rear tubular bumper that also holds the integrated swing-away full-size spare. And it's great to have the door endcaps that makes this one resemble the rare U13 Bronco roadsters. But if you're looking for more weather protection, this one has a black soft top and a set of full doors that come with the sale, too.
Another reason why we like the sporty roadster look on the outside is because this one has a very sporty interior. You've got an upgraded set of bucket seats up front that have the right bolstering to feel great driving in town and keep you planted on the trial. Speaking of staying in your seat, the five-point harnesses are exactly what you want for serious off-roading. In fact, the rear get a set, too. You'll love resting your right hand on the B&M shifter, and your left one will enjoy the grip of the sports steering wheel. The dash has great additions like the auxiliary gauge trio and even a cool custom airbrush art. While there are provisions for an AM/FM/cassette CD changer stereo, your favorite soundtrack will come from the upgrades under the hood.
You can tell from the moment you pop the hood that it's no ordinary V8 powering this one. Beyond the clean-and-mean appearance, this one respects the first-year Bronco's history by starting out with the largest motor they had available at the time, the 302 cubic-inch V8. This one has been upgraded with a Weber four-barrel carburetor, SVO heads, Ford Racing valve covers, and long tube headers that feed the Flowmaster dual exhaust. It's backed by a three-speed automatic transmission, and two-speed transfer case feeding both axles. Broncos have a tough off-road attitude that's only enhanced with this lifted suspension and Futura Enforcer M/T tires. Plus, these were the first consumer 4x4 to utilize front coil springs. So that combined with power steering and front disc brakes means this is a great total package for the town or the trail.
Complete with build receipts, this is the Bronco represents maximum fun on and off the road. Don't wait...call today!!!
